Exile as in for the Genesis, also known in Japan as XZR? That game rocks!

Now that I think of it, that picture isn't reminiscent of the game I'm thinking of at all, so probably not. v_v

SUPER BUMP:

wow, so gay:

Taiwanese man has been named the first ever person to successfully beat World of Warcraft, getting all 986 achievements, completing 5906 quests and /hugging 11 players.

'Little Gray" beat the game after killing 390,895 creatures, administering 7,255,538,878 points of damage, completing 5,906 quests (averaging 14 quests a day), raiding 405 dungeons and hugging 11 players. I believe we can safely add another statistic to the numbers -- he has had sex 0 times during this period.

That's just ridiculous. I do wonder, though, what he's going to do now.

There's an achievement for /hugging 11 people, apparently.

You should totally check out the IRC channel.

There's an achievement for hugging a dead person, so a lot of people made a macro and spammed it to get said achievement when they were about to kill someone (whhen achievements first came out).

Anyway, just so you guys know, playing WoW all the time doesn't necessarily hurt your chances of getting laid (though it very well can). It's actually gotten some people laid!

Playing any game obsessively does hurt your chances of getting laid. Obviously there are exceptions and you still could get laid at some point, but it definitely hurts your chances in terms of probability when you choose to go home to play WoW rather than going out with friends or going on dates.

It certainly doesn't help.

i have a friend who actually met his girl on WoW. of course i make fun of him for that, but he gets laid now more than i do.

IDk, I guess people will view doing the same activity as obsessive and life crushing...but is spending 6 hours on WoW different than spending those same 6 hours playing random video games, frequenting forums, watching youtube videos, watching porn, watching TV/movies, playing COD when it comes down to having a "life"?

Sure you have more variety, but you are no closer to pussy.

What's funny is the video game nerds who have no problem playing Final Fantasy or Dragon Warrior for 14 hours straight make fun of the WoW people for doing the same fucking thing except interacting with actual humans in the process. I'm not defending WoW because I never played it, but there is a giant double standard somewhere in there.

well, if you plan your life around WoW, then you have problems. i have a buddy who plays WoW and only goes out if he doesnt have a raid planned for that day. a raid can take anywhere from 5-9 hours depending on wipes and difficulty.

so, basically, if there is a UFC planned, or a night out planned, he wont go if he has a raid. which is retarded imo simply because you let something control your life that bad.

dont get me wrong, i play videogames quite a bit and i enjoy playing them. but i play them on MY time.

Mine? It's from an old Windows 3.1 game called Castle of the Winds. Episode 1 was shareware, Episode 2 you had to pay for.

Sort of off current topic, but the creator released the full game for free just no open source. (And it works on most current systems!)

I find the problem with WoW is the whole concept of putting in real money to keep playing. Sure that's a tired argument, but I can play a bunch of online MMO's that are just as good if not better then WoW IMO for free.
Along with the fan boy's of the game which consistantly argue that it's "thier life" to keep playing the game and take it more serious then say... your real life?

I like at it this way, if they like it that much let em go nuts, they're keeping everyone at WoW employed so there's that I guess. I'm pretty sure that they'll look back on their deathbeds and see what a monumental waste it was, but hindsight is 20 20.

By the sounds of it few or any of you on here play WoW.

I have played the game since 2006 and seriously after about a month of playing - and when i say playing i mean about 3-4 hours a day on average it gets boring and you stop playing.

I didn't play for half a year then my friend asked me to start a new character with him. So i played then his ISP fucked up or something and he couldn't connect so i stopped playing. The only time i ever play the game and actually enjoy it is when i have someone i know to play with who i know.

Most of the people who play the game are elitist scum anyway. You can be geared well enough to run an instance but they won't let you join your group cause you don't have the achievement.. and how do you get the achievement?? BY RUNNING THE FUCKING INSTANCE. It's just so stupid.

Theres a dungeon Onxyia and it was revamped last patch or something. I completed it in 2006 and i wanted to go to the new revamped version. I wasn't allowed to join the group even after i told them that i completed the classic version so i know what i am doing.. apparently that's not good enough.

Not to mention the fact that Blizzard has fucked the class balances and stuff. Some classes don't even require skill to play. Like warlocks you just press 5 buttons cast 5 damage over times on you and you die. That's it.

It's honestly not even worth the effort. So basically i play on/off but it really goes get dull fast. Like the new expansion will come out i will level to 85 and stop playing cause i couldn't be bothered/have more of a life to spend hours and hours getting new updated gear. Theres just no point.

EDIT: to stay on topic.. yeah those guys are wasting their lives like i just said above. Every patch you have to pretty much get new gear and waste more time collecting it. Could you really be bothered.

And.. to whoever made the FF comparison to WoW. The difference is that FF has an end you can invest time and get something out of it forward the plot, get told a story etc. you can enjoy it. With WoW you spend hours doing something and then it becomes irrelevant less than 3 months later so you have to do it again, rinse and repeat (i.e. gear collection) Run battlegrounds to get honor points, spend it on gear, gear becomes outdated, run battlegrounds get more honor etc.. There isn't even a plot which is distinguishable, most people just get a quest do it and press complete don't even read what's involved. There is no fun in it no character development really, just an empty void. Thats the game and the old material gets forgotten about. Like Shattrath was the major game city were all high level players went with the release of the 2nd expansion. It's a ghost town now theres hardly anyone about. They are all in the new city Dalaran and with the new expansion it will become a ghost town as well.
