Alright, as some of you may know, I got robbed at gunpoint at work the other night. This got me thinking about things. So I'm at the library, and I see they have a copy of Twilight, and I think to myself, 'I wonder what's worse?'
So I took it out. My initial intentions was to write a full-on review about the movie and state what I would rather do again, get held up or watch it. But frankly, the movie doesn't deserve it.
So here's my thoughts on Twilight:
* This is not the worst movie I've ever seen (that distinction goes to The Love Guru). This is however, the worst casting of a male and female lead ever. How are these two in acting? It's like they hired two cardboards boxes who are trying so hard to pretend their human, that they overact everything, but do a really shitty job. Robert Pattinson is like Keanu Reeves, but the opposite. He has one emotion: constipated. Kristen Stewart's only emotion is clueless.
* I did not expect Oscar-worthy dialogue. I am aware that this is a teen movie based on a novel whose literary merits regularly come into question. And really, the dialogue was fine. But I feel the need to repeat my favorite exchange in the movie:
Vampire Boy: I can read everyone's mind in here, except yours.
*points to individuals, saying things they are thinking about, mostly money and sex*
Vampire Boy: But when I read your mind, there's nothing.
Stupid Chick: Is there something wrong with me?
Vampire Boy: Yeah. You're an idiot. And really self-absorbed apparently.
* The dude is creepy as shit. And she likes it! Now, in my naive middle/high school days, I used to have trouble getting the hint when a girl didn't like me. So this would lead to me calling her until she gave me a straight answer as to what our plans, if any, for the weekend are. I find this to be fine, but I've been called creepy for it. Thanks to Twilight, I know now that I wasn't creepy enough. Clearly I should've snuck into their rooms while they were sleeping and told them how much I enjoyed watching them sleep. THEN I would've won their hearts.
So I dunno, these are just some thoughts I gathered from the film, as I feel asleep in the middle and the fact that the movie's promise of fire and dismemberment turned out to be a cocktease really pissed me off. I did learn a few things from Twilight however. Among them:
* Ashley Greene is really hot.
* Every female ever needs to where baseball slacks. All the time.
* The plight of the Native American is as prominent today as ever before. In one of the film's last scenes, long-hair kid (the only character I liked) talks to Stupid Chick and when Blockhead shows up, there's tension. Now, I'm aware of the film's whole "Vampires vs. Werewolves" storyline, and that this is foreshadowing for the second film. Unless it was established that long-hair kid is a werewolf in this film. I dunno, I fell asleep for at least half an hour. Anyway, Blockhead says to stupid chick, 'I leave you alone for two minutes and the wolves descend on you'. Now, obviously he knows that long hair kid is a werewolf, but stupid chick doesn't, and she laughs. Racist bitch.
So, would I rather watch Twilight, or have a guy (who incidentally enough, was Native) point a shotgun in my face again? Well, the robbery took 20 seconds of my life not two hours, but I didn't get a nap in the middle of it. But saying I watched Twilight makes me less of a badass.
In short, I think every fan of Twilight should get robbed at gun point, so they can learn that there are better ways to spend your time.

My whole question is why would a 100 year old vampire still be going to high school?

Wouldn't he also be incredibly mature as well? Considering he's like one-and-a-half grandpas, he'd have to just be incredibly jaded and tired. Not to mention that it's hard to believe he's a 100 year old virgin. Guy has probably had like 50 girlfriends alone.
As far as dumb fads go, I couldn't really care. Guys typically bash the Twilight movies, but will then go and watch Transformers movies to see if it "did justice" to their old toys.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind. |

Will admit, that I've never seen either of the Transformers movies. I just wasn't very interested in seeing it. Never got into the TV show, and never spent my allowance on any of thier toys. I instead spent most of my money on NES games and Ninja Turtle action figures, maybe occasionally some G.I. Joe's and I've yet to see that movie. It looks retarded, and over the top.

I saw both Transformers movies because it was like when you slow have to slow down and gawk at a horrific car accident.
But I will never, ever, under any circumstances, watch Twilight.

Yeah, I bought that issue last night. Good shit.
And I slept through the part where he admits he's 100 years old, so that doesn't matter to me.

Seriously though, it's cuz 91.8% of girls enter high school as virgins. He's a vampire. He likes blood.

Kristen Stewart is the worst fuggin' actress in the history of the world. It grated on my nerves how every time she was supposed to be expressing any kind of sad emotion, she always had this nauseous look on her face. When I endured New Moon last week, me & my friends kept making barfing noises every time she'd make the seasick face (much to the chagrin of the preteen girls sitting in front of us).

I was tricked into watching this movie (The girl I am talking to brought Twilight and Brokeback Mountain over and since I never wish to see Brokeback Mountain I decided on Twilight) Now I know I am not the demographic this movie is targeting add to the fact that I laughed a lot at the movie when I wasn't supposed to I really didn't find it as horrible as I was planning to.
Did I enjoy it? No. Would I watch it again? Probably not. But it definitely wasn't "Sparkle ***" as I thought it was going to be. I still don't see why this film is so hyped and such a blockbuster.

Ah, Twilight. The story of a young girl's choice between bestiality and necrophilia...
The first Twilight movie is horribly bad. Razzie bad. Like Douche, a girl was responsible for my viewing of it and New Moon. I found New Moon a lot better and actually had interesting parts.

When the CW takes a shot at your vampires, it's time to read a book on vampire lore before publishing a novel...

I saw the Rifftrax, and even that was almost unbearable. The Rifftrax was awesome, don't get me wrong, but that movie is just ass.

Probably a good decision, Douche
By the way, you should have gone with Brokeback. Movie's worth it for the scenery if nothing else, and the acting is fantastic. If you can get past the one, 30 second scene, with absolutely nothing graphic shown, of two guys banging each other, its actually damn good. Well, good as in, romance movie good, anyway. Which is far more than you can say of Twilight, which fails on every level, INCLUDING the romance one. You'll find more honesty, genuine human emotion and good acting in one Brokeback scene than you'll get from watching Twilight through twice.
It does make me sad that such a beautiful movie, that includes one of Heath Ledger's best performances, has been reduced to a punchline because of stupid male insecurity. (And Douche, that was completely not directed at you, that was a totally general statement.)

Whatever happened to Vampires that... you know... Tried to take over London playing the real estate game along with the intent to suck all the women there dry as a bone only to be hunted down by your real estate agent and his motley crew of Doctors, Hunters, and his wife?
