Onto the double-digits...

The Real Ghostbusters - Based off some movies no one's heard of, four scientists work to bust and capture ghosts. They also had a green ghost named Slimer.

Doug - Starting on Nickelodeon and then later moving to Disney, the daydream filled life of sixth-grader Doug Funnie, his dog Porkchop, and his Crayola-coloured friends.

Chip 'n Dale's Rescue Rangers - The crime-solving adventures of the Rescue Rangers, a detective agency run by Chip, Dale, Monterey Jack, Gadget, and Zipper.

King of the Hill - Mike Judge's other cartoon, following the life of a Texan propane salesmen, Hank, and his family: Peggy, Bobby, and Luanne. There were also Hank's drinking buddies, Dale, Bill, and Boomhauer.

I went with King of the Hill. I really hated this show when it first came on and took me forever to warm up to it. I haven't watched it in a few years, since they added Lucky and I absolutely hated him. They also neutered Hank too much later on.

I liked Chip N Dale and The Real Ghostbusters. I only watched Doug on occasion because I didn't have cable and when I was able to watch it, I never really chose to watch it. When it came to ABC, it really sucked.

This is the first one so far that I haven't known what I wanted to vote for immediately. I wish all of these could advance, I loved Doug, Chip 'N Dale, and The Real Ghostbusters growing up, and I also love King of the Hill currently, even though I haven't seen any of the last couple seasons. I had to go with King of the Hill though in the end.

I was absolutely livid as a child when I turned on Fox at 9 AM as a child, only to discover that The Real Ghostbusters had been replaced with Batman: The Animated Series.

Absolutely livid.

I'm sorry, but King of the Hill can completely suck my balls, and I'm pissed it's even been on that goddamn long, considering it's just a bunch of fucking rednecks in non- Good Simpsons situations. Can someone please explain to me where the humor is in it? 'cause I can't see it at all. And yes, I did try to get into it on numerous occasions. Good riddance. Go back to Beavis and Butthead, Mike Judge. Oh, and those cool movies too.

Anyway, I chose Doug. I actually liked the '96-'99 ABC run.

I wouldn't consider any of the Hills or even most of the characters (outside of Lucky) to be rednecks. Hank is a good natured, conservative middle aged man who likes beer, football and selling propane. Ideally, Hank does the family routine, but seems reluctant at times to identify with his wife or son very much. He has a few jackass friends who all seem to have never grown up or are so depressed that they become intraverts. The humor is subtle at times, and usually a Peggy episode usually sucks, but Hank MAKES the show. Again, I hated it when I was younger because I didn't really understand it. Also, I like that the show never seemed to have to top itself by going out of it's way to put it's characters in such ideally over the top situations in order to appeal to it's audience, which South Park, The Simpsons and Family Guy are all guilty of. And living in the South for 5 years, I can tell you right now, that's how most of the people are, good natured and laid back.

Mike Judge's comedy doesn't appeal to everyone.

I only have a vauge memory of actually watching The Real Ghostbusters, but I know I liked it. Doug always seemed really stupid to me growing up and I don't think I've ever seen Chip 'n Dale's Rescue Rangers.
I don't like the King of the Hill for the same reasons I don't like The Simpsons or any other similar cartoons, there are two: one was that it seemed to promote the sterotypes I hate most and the other was that while it was accepted as a take on a typical family, there never seemed to be much that was very real about it. I guess that was just me. My brother loves all those cartoons, so it must just be me.

I remember being very confused as a kid at where the hell the Hills lived. For some reason, when they dubbed it, they tried to make it like they lived somewhere near Montréal,
to appeal more to people here I think, which made me wonder how they could reach Mexico so quickly or why the fuck the Cowboys would come here for their practices.
They didn't take it very seriously, so it was more funny than annoying.

I'm abstaining, I don't think any of these cartoons belong, despite the fact that I like King of the Hill.

Mean group. I love all these shows, even though I think RR is a leading cause of the furry epidemic.

Doug is my wife's favorite cartoon ever. So in the intrest of marital harmony, it gets my vote.

Nickelodeon was pretty much the only TV channel I watched from about 9-15, so Doug gets my vote by far. I never liked King of the Hill either and never saw the appeal of it.

It was a toned down more adult version of the humor in Beavis and Butthead, Hank was a younger Mr Anderson so to speak. I like to think of it as a sitcom that happens to be animated, because it's not very cartoony. Even though I like it I can see why a lot of people don't care for it. Most people watch cartoons to laugh at ridiculous nonsense or marvel at amazing adventures, both which are not to be seen in King of the Hill.

When it comes to Doug I never liked it's goody two shoes wholesome aspect. Everyone was good, even Roger the bully was always in class and doing his work. Skeeter was fucking annoying with his honking, and trying to get kids to eat beets because it's nature's candy, although admirable, was lame. (and was a much funnier as a joke when Marge said it on Treehouse of Horror III)

*huge simpson's nerd* Embarrassed

I remember the first time I saw rule 34 (wasn't called that at the time) rescue rangers, or really the whole concept in general. A mixture of WHAT!? No... just no. and Laughing all at once. There is a point where you should stop clicking and refuse to delve any deeper into the wretched hive of scum and villainy that is the internet. Razz

I went with Doug, that show was great at being weird, serious, and funny at the same time.

Kulookookoo.

I liked Ghostbusters, but not nearly as much as the movies, as to be expected.
Hated Doug, it was just weird.
Chip and Dale was fun, but not something I followed too greatly.

King of the Hill was just a great show with very subtle humor, not your standard cartoon fare. It's getting my vote.

I loved King of the Hill and all, but fuck was Peggy Hill annoying on that. I hate people like that in real life, and every time I see her start acting like she does I wish Hank would become even more red neck and slap the piss out of her.

Had to vote for the Real Ghostbusters, which is funny, because the television show that the OTHER ghostbusters show was based off of actually came way before it. Still, there were some amazing episodes, a lot of funny stuff (Collect Call of Cthulhu?), and one episode I can't remember the name of, but it had some creepy dude with a flute who was going to end the world. I know, flute doesn't seem to = badassery, but this guy was scary. Maybe it was just because I watched it on a horse farm in Jersey and there were spiders everywhere, though.

Who likes role-playing games? Me. Way too goddamn much.

Ghostbusters without a doubt.

Doug was a good cartoon, but I always thought he was a little bitch.

Rescue rangers wasn't bad either, but some stories were just stupid.

KotH is hit or miss with me. Some episodes are funny while others are just annoying

I like how this thread is a lot of King of the Hill smack-talk, yet it's winning by a 2-1 margain.

Peggy was what always ruined King of the Hill for me, ever notice how in EVERY fucking episode Peggy does something monumentally retarded, and Hank plays along and is supportive, until the very end where he has to fix everything, then at the end of the episode she apologizes and admits that she should have listened to him the first time. every single fucking episode. Rolling Eyes
