I thought of this thread as soon as the Cinema SNob posted this

http://thecinemasnob.com/2009/11/21/jillian-and-brad-review-twilight-new-moon.aspx

At least one good thing came out of this movie

I've just received word that this movie has beaten The Dark Knight's record for opening day sales, establishing a new record.

WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO?

This made my day, and helped me, at least, start the process of healing:

At least until the next one comes out. Crying

So, um...*cough*...um...

I saw it. No... just no.

The actors' competancy is vastly improved (although the chick who plays Bella still has only one facial expression: seasick), although there are a lot of gratuitous "ZOMG HE TOOK HIS SHIRT OFF" moments. At least in this movie, there are vampires that actually act like friggin' vampires and not the pansy brigade that is Edward and his family. Also, the soundtrack is phenomenal, and I do mean that with utmost sincerity (Thom Yorke's "Hearing Damage" comes to mind).

I can't help but get the feeling that the plot for the entire series is a thinly-veiled metaphor about how people should wait until they're married to have sex. Oh, wait a minute. Rolling Eyes

Also, I won't spoil the ending for anyone who actually wants to see it, but I was incredibly underwhelmed; just when I thought the series actually got some maturity and sophistication, the ending completely rewinded back to the catering-to-the-screaming-fangirls mentality of the first movie.

Just wanted to say that I have those Marvel Dracula and Wolfman figures, and my favorite vampire movie is Nosferatu.

I will be thrilled to see what next classic movie monster gets ruined in the same vein of Twilight
Frakenstein? Zombies? Swamp thing? Gremlins?

god knows any of those will end up being in the sequels.

Opening day doesn't mean shit, when it's still #1 after 15 weeks, then we should start planning for the apocalypse.

Doug Walker didn't think New Moon was as bad as the first Twilight movie.

It wasn't nearly as bad, although that's like saying that Attack of the Clones wasn't nearly as bad as The Phantom Menace.
