Hey guys,
I have a tale for you in which the moral of the story is to be careful when you order stuff online.
You may remember (probably not) that i made a thread here about buying a PS3, games it has, why i should get one etc. Well shortly after my birthday i ordered one, around about 2 weeks ago. So i ordered it online were it was immediately dispatched and should have been a 2 day delivery. It was a Thursday it was dispatched and it was 2 business days delivery so i suspected "oh it will arrive on Monday".
Monday comes no delivery.
Tuesday comes no delivery.
Wednesday comes no delivery.
etc.
Various other parcels were delivered by trucks and vans but not my console. Another week goes by and another week till now.
So it gets to the point were i send the the game company an email asking "where the hell is my stuff!?" to which there is no reply. So i ring them.
After 10 minutes on hold i get through to a phone operator to which i tell them i have an order number here, it was meant to take 2 days it's been over 10 working days were is my stuff?
They put me on hold and return with this answer:
it was delivered on the Monday
Now the next question is were the fuck was it delivered?! I don't have it. Other questions run through my mind.. Do you have sign for it? How did they sign for it in my name? What do i generally do about this?
Two calls later it becomes established that the delivery company just so it seems dumped my console off somewhere. The game company is investigating the delivery company to see where the driver left it but where does this leave me? This is were we are now.
Basically this is what could happen:
Scenario 1
Person signed for goods (not me)
Game company finds from the delivery company that i did not sign for this
I get a refund as the signatures don't match
Game company and delivery company enter a dispute as to why the drivers are in fucking capable of delivering to the right address.
Scenario 2
The goods were not signed for.
No proof that i don't have them
I lose £250.
I weep.
So yes the game company are meant to be phoning tomorrow about whats happening. If i lose my money i am going to be depressed as hell cause a drivers incompetence is not my fault. It saddens me more that the people who actually have my console haven't even done anything about it.
So basically guys be careful when you order online, shit like this could happen and fuck you over.
I will keep you updated if your interested in whats happening. To think that i ordered my console online for my CONVENIENCE... Would have been easier to go into town and buy it myself.

That sucks, who did you order from? Who is the shipping company. I wouldn't order something that valuable anywhere but Amazon, and really, I wouldn't order something that valuable online unless it was a huge markdown. $20 extra is worth the peace of mind.

The reason i ordered online though was so that i wouldn't have to carry a PS3 through the city centre and get a bus (i can't drive) with it in case i dropped it or someone tried to mug me or something. The place i ordered it from is a reputable UK gaming company "GAME", they are like the standard game selling place over here sort of like your Gamestop or whatever you have in the US. Parcelforce was the delivery company who delivered it to the wrong address.

Well, since you are from across the pond, I don't know if you guys have big name shipping companies like we do here.
In the US, if you order something, it comes 99% of the time, through one of three companies:
US Postal Service
UPS
FedEx
If it is sent with Signature Confirmation or Priorty Mail via the USPS, then you can track your order, and have to sign for it when it arrives.
All UPS & FedEx packages can be tracked every step of the way from Point A (Seller) to Point B (Buyer), and also are signature confirmations.

Turns out it was delivered to Scotland..
Luckily GAME have been notified and contacted my local store who gave me a console instead. For the hassle they gave me GAME also are giving me a free game. Uncharted 2 or something, i know very little about it but hey it's free so i can't complain.
Thank god this is sorted.

Uncharted 2 is a great game from everything I've seen. Congratulations on getting your console.
