Really guys? Maybe people don't want to invest the money and time for a guitar and lessons, they just want to have fun.

I proffer that people who would compare a simple game of timing and playing an instrument are devaluing musicians.

It's not rape if you rape everyone who accuses you.

OK.

There is nothing, absolutely fucking NOTHING that raises my will to kill more than people who think "lol, fuck rock band, play a real instrument". I mean seriously, Every time I hear that, it's like saying "STOP HAVING FUN GUYS".

Plus, it's not like I ever heard pro dancers/DJs going in a fit saying "Practice real dancing/DJing" about DDR and Beatmania so it's just a little too late for that, ain't it?

It's not the fun factor that irks me...

It's the people who seriously think they can play guitar after playing this. Or they have an "understanding" of good music after hearing the songs on there.

I feel the same way about Call of Duty. Stop being a pussy and visit your local recruiter! You should see the graphics they have in Iraq!

WIN!

I think Guitar Hero/Rock Band are a good way to expose today's yutes to classic rock they might otherwise not find. Also, it helps build hand-eye coordination, which lowers your Brain Age.

i like those guitar games. they are fun, have great music. do they teach you anything about playing an instrument (besides, ITS HARD)? no, but it still doesnt mean the games are un-fun.

get off your damn high horse already

As a guitar player I'll admit to holding that attitude, until I played it. Yeah it's fucking entertaining so I backed down. Besides, if you know anyone annoyingly stupid enough to think they have skills / understand music from playing them, why in God's name are you associating with them?

What's funny was that I was a skateboarder until around 6th grade when all the kids who were in the learning disability classes started doing it, which caused everyone else to stop.

Tony Hawk Proskater 1 was ok, I never played any of the other ones, never had the desire.

I'm good. As fun as it was, it wasn't my cup of tea. I had already grown out of the skateboarding phase.

But I still own my Mountain Dew skateboard mint from collecting Pepsi Points
