I was on Craigslist the other day looking for random arcade cabinets on sale around me, since I don't own any and have always wanted one when I found this little gem!

I went down today to try it out, and the thing runs perfect and is in great condition so I bought it immediately. I haven't got a chance to play it much yet, but I played one before at Fun Spot in New Hampshire a while ago, and I remember some of the levels being slightly different. Either way, I'm fucking pumped to own an actual original Vs. Super Mario Bros. arcade cabinet! Plus, it was only $375, which seems pretty reasonable to me.

Sweet deal, bro. If I ever find myself in a fifty kilometer radius within your home, don't be alarmed to find me, breaking into your house in order to play some sweet Vs. SMB.

You should totally check out the IRC channel.
While you're at it, go check out my band, Her Majesty's Heroines.

That's awesome. One thing I plan on doing someday is having a small classic arcade area with the following;

Pac Man
Ms. Pac Man
Galaga
Asteroids
Frogger
Battlezone
Dig Dug
Donkey Kong
Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros.
Street Fighter
Defender
Space Invaders

and my most desired arcade game

ARM WRESTLING!!!!!

Most of the levels are modified versions of SMB1 one levels. However, later in the game, there are some SMB2J levels thrown in.

Awesomeness, I would buy an arcade game, but I feel I would become addicted and want MANY MANY MORE.

Yeah I hear ya. I've had the passion for over 10 years, but have decided to only go for only 1 of 2 games if I find a deal, everything else will have to wait until I am financially able to build a collection. I've had several chances to get a Donkey Kong arcade, which is one of those games that I always loved since I could never beat it as a kid...level 3 always kicked my ass. Arm Wrestling on the other hand, I've never seen that anywhere, despite being a pretty popular game at the time.

Final Fight!? That's awesome, if I ever find that around here at a decent price I'm gonna pick that up myself. I have the SNES version, but the arcade version is so much better with that Ninja in it. Nice pick up. And Doddsino, I'm glad you have Battlezone in your list, not enough people mention that incredible game anymore.

I tried to think of as many classic games as possible, without going overboard. Street Fighter TECHNICALLY isn't the classic era that I'm going for, but it did lead into the age that I grew up in, and since I don't have it on any other console, I figured to go retro with it, and Arm Wrestling...I'm just cool like that. Street Fighter would be near the top of my list.....the convenience store near my house actually had one, it was fucking awesome to be able to play this and not have to get to the arcade.

I miss arcades. Sure you wasted a shitload of money, but the environment always appealed to me. Plus all the places I would go to also had air hockey and laser tag. Of course, I was a poor kid so I would scrounge around on the dirty popcorn and soda ridden floors looking for dropped tokens. Whoever thought of the token mentality is a genius, they basically got your money twice.

I've got a SFIII Third Strike arcade machine, I bought it from a guy who owned a local movie theater that went out of business when a Regal Cinema opened.

Shake it, Quake it, Space Kaboom.

Any Street Fighter II machine would be great to own, ideally I would love to get a Super Street Fighter II or Super Street Fighter II: Turbo machine, although I would be willing to setting for a Street Fighter II: Championship Edition if it were a great deal. As much fun as Street Fighter II is, not being able to play as Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M. Bison is a a giant deal breaker for me.

I always got really fucking confused with the Street Fighter games...there was Street Fighter, then Super Street Fighter, then Street Fighter Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha. It kinda killed my love for them, since the theme went in so many different directions.

I'd love to get an arcade machine but I don't have room for it. If I ever did though, there's a guy in town who sells and repairs arcade machines and pinball machines, so not only could I get one fairly easily, I could get it delivered, and get home repair service as well.

My dream arcade machine (Literally, I had a dream about it) is a Crazy Taxi machine. Crazy Taxi is so boss.

I loved playing Crazy Taxi so much in the arcade, that when I finally got a PS2, that was the first game I ever bought for it.

I'd get something that hasn't been ported to home consoles, or that hasn't been ported well. The Simpons arcade game, the 6 player X-Men game, and Revolution X are all top picks for me. Something like Pac-Man or Donkey Kong that's been ported a million times and is easily emulated? Not so much. Unless I could find a pristine condition version of the cocktail table Pac-Man machine.

Believe it or not, they did... sort of.

There was an obscure but half-decent DOS version released in 1991. As most other home conversions of the day, it only supported two players: http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/simpsons-arcade-game/screenshots

There was also a TERRIBLE C64 version released the same year:

I'd get a marvel vs capcom machine, not MVC2. or maybe X-Men vs. Street fighter.
