After reading that article, I can understand why the U of Penn guy might think it was a hoax. Some of the sentences the guy is typing (with help) sound a little.....too complicated.....for someone who was disabled in such a way, and for so long. I'm certainly no expert on psychology, brain trauma or how that kind of stuff would affect a person, but it seems to me that if you've just regained your ability to communicate after 23 years, you'd probably be using very simplified speech. This guy seems to be typing with better accuracy/grammar than most people on the internet (which I know isn't saying much, but still....)
