We've all got our own little sources for movie news and reading, so what are your personal favorites? My favorite would definitely be Pajiba. They can be a little overly picky, but rarely artistic snobs, and definitely give the thumbs up and thumbs down where they're desperately needed. I've never seen people who understand horror movies as much as the writers there do, as evidenced by the following reviews:

http://www.pajiba.com/film_reviews/paranormal-activity-review.php
http://www.pajiba.com/film_reviews/my-bloody-valentine-movie-review.php

Also, this one almost had me clapping and whistling along while I was reading, just because I always wondered why so many reviewers decide that they HAVE to see a bland, cliched movie, just to confirm our suspicions that it truly is a bland, cliched movie.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

I'm not the type of person who gets their enjoyment of a movie ruined by knowing what's going to happen (the experience being a whole different beast than just knowing what's going to happen) so if I'm intrigued by, say, trailers or a good review (or hell, even a bad review), then I go to themoviespoiler.com. I'm not happy with synopses, I'd rather read a summary of the whole thing.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas.

In terms of upcoming movies, I see trailers or hear about them here or TopRobot or The Escapist.

Reviews, I come here and then go to Roger Ebert. Gives me a good balance and a good idea of what to expect. (Except in the rare cases where Ebert writes a review without the help of his brain, and gives crappy Nicholas Cage movies four stars, but other than that.)

I check Yahoo Movies ratings. If it has a B+ or higher, it has always been worth it to see in the movies. Anything lower may be just a rental. (Exception: My Name is Bruce)

I normally check user reviews on yahoo or moviefone. I don't really care what other people have to say about the movie, especially critics, but if it somehow has less than a C from users (which is very, very tough to do), then I won't see it. With how stupid most people are these days, it's REALLY hard to get less than a C rating so any movie with a poor rating from users has to be unwatchable.

I would agree that there's an abundance of morons cluttering up the planet these days, but many don't see how good certain movies are because they dont understand them or they've no imagination or they refuse to suspend disbelief or they just get a feeling of importance by saying they think everything is crap.

I wouldn't look upon someone as stupid for liking a bad movie, i'd be more inclined to think they just had bad taste, but if they get enjoyment from it then good for them.

Thanks Salt, a lot of insight right there.

Me too

I don't follow gossip or crap like that, so if there's anything going on with the movie that's worth reporting, someone usually updates it on there.
