The first grouping is a tough one.
Your choices are:
Batman: The Animated Series - Batman's adventures as he takes on his...Great, my first quick description, and I'm stumped. Come on, it's fucking BATMAN. ANIMATED. And not crappily. Get it?
South Park - The adventures of four young boys in a quiet mountain town where strange things happen. And gross things. And strangely relevant to our modern times things.
Duckman - The adventures of a lazy, perverted duck private detective, his highly competent pig partner, and his bizarre family. One of the first "adult" cartoons before they became all the rage in the late 2000s. Starred the Seinfeld guy. No, the fat one. No, the fat bald one.
Daria - The non-adventures of sarcastic teenager Daria as she observes and dryly comments on the strange, bizarre, and frightening world of Suburbia.
I tried to be as neutral as possible in those descriptions, but my creative vibe just ain't going today. So if you want, pick a show and pimp it out.
Remember, vote early, and vote often.

Fuck, Batman or Southpark out in round one? Or are you advancing two from each grouping?
How long does each pole last?

Top 2 advances.
And how long your pole lasts is a personal thing.

I easily chose South Park. Don't get me wrong, I like Batman. In fact he is one of my favorite super heroes. I just don't get the same level of enjoyment as I do from SP.
I actually think that as I get older I enjoy South Park more.

Damn, I just made the tie vote for batman. I had to vote for it. It was my first "edgy" cartoon, and the one that taught me the idea of a "plot" and "character devlopement." God, my library sucked.

Batman. I lose a lot of enjoyment each time I rewatch a South Park episode, but Batman could be the only thing I ever saw again and I would be stoked.

Yeah, I'm going to have to go with Batman too. At the time it came out, Batman was a joke and TAS brought the license back from the precipice and made a whole new generation of kids love Batman. Plus, the show created out of thin air one of the coolest Batman villains ever, Harley Quinn. Major bonus points there.

It wouldn't surprise me if Batman were capable of winning all the way through on a site dedicated to retro stuff. The comic book appeal plus the decent story and animation made it a very good show. I don't personally like it as much as other cartoons, but if one were into it, I can't see a person wavering away and voting for any other cartoon. That dedication will probably end up bringing it a gold medal at the end of this thing.

Dude...this is ridiculous...you put two shows that belong in the quarter finals together.

How was Batman a joke? This was on the heels of Returns, which while not as good as the first movie, it was still very well liked by most people. Also, I don't want to start anything, but I never got the appeal of Harley Quinn, maybe she would be alright on her own, but Joker seems like the kind of guy to kill her in 2 minutes.

The pairings were randomly selected, two advance from each first round grouping.

Was it ever announced at how many votes/time this poll ends? If there rules are random...then why the fuck does it matter?

He took the top 64 nominated shows, then randomly paired them up in groups of four, top two from each round advance to the next round, voting will last at least one day and until Usa decides that two shows will clearly win the round.

It was liked, but I wouldn't say most people liked it a lot. And to a 12 year old kid like myself, the movie was fucking weird and borderline traumatizing (Penguin biting off some guy's nose anyone?) It didn't feel like Batman.
TAS was like a light from Heaven that brought Batman back to what he was supposed to be according to the comics, at least to us kids. It wasn't dark, gritty, and weird nor was it neon, bubbly, and gay like the later films. TAS got it.
As for Harley, she's personally my favorite villain, but it's all a matter of opinion I suppose, so I won't argue with you about your preference.

batman in terms of cartoons was a joke.
the super friends were ridiculous. they were cheesy good vs evil crap. which ultimately thats what comics are about, but they didnt capture the dark detective properly.
then came batman TAS and changed all that.

Yeah I wasn't trying to argue, it's always struck me as interesting as to how well liked she was. I admit, she was very memorable and I thought the quasi-lesbian relationship with Poison Ivy suited her much better than being with Joker.
And yes, Returns was creepy. The fucking cats reviving Pfiefer with biting her. Still, everyone I knew fucking loved that movie.

My choice should be pretty obvious, but all 4 are personal favorites.
This looks pretty settled, but I'll let it go another day just to make sure. 19 votes is kind of paltry.
