...first off, shouldn't your thread title be a bit more descriptive?
Secondly...I don't see the problem. I don't have time to scan through 100 pages of that, but the top 10 at least look reasonable (except for Madden, but hey, other people like it).

Seriously man, if you're going to contribute to a message board, think of it as having a conversation with sane adults. Nobody knows what the fuck you're talking about because you're screaming like an albino mental patient who thinks he's a black gangsta.
Just relax, and post again what your point is here so we can all be on board with you.

You know, it's not THAT bad. It's chock full of 8-9 year old games, which is at least 7 years further than the average "hardcore gamer" memory is able to reminisce. As for the games' position in the list, I guess it's a matter of personal opinion but come on, they put Beyond Good and Evil, Psychonauts, Diablo II, Okami, Perfect effin' Dark, Shadow of the Colossus, Eternal Darkness... even Shenmue! I doubt those "hardcore gamers" even know the Dreamcast existed.
Could be far worse...
EDIT: Deus Ex's #29 !

Haha nice
I've never heard of this website, and I'm sure as hell not going to click through 100 pages...at least with SydLexia, it brings up every game and you can click on at your pleasure, and offers more insight than these lists do.
And I actually agree with #1.

The list says best of the 2000's! Of course it blows, the 2000's blows. This generation is emo, they emulate Vampires, they play shitty FPS all day but never want to go to war. They don't even have any pop culture to speak of, they only re-hash old shit from the 80's and 90's. If this was a top 100 games of all time I could understand, but as for it being in the 2000's I don't care. Halo was overrated, GTA was fun for 10 minutes but you never finished it because you would just rather shoot people, and the rest of this mess is mostly games that will be forgotten in the next 10 years. The list isn't pathetic, the games of the 2000's are pathetic. Can one fucking developer besides Nintendo create anything besides a FPS? How many times can we play Halo 4: Goldeneye's Perfect Doom?

See, that's where most people differ. I got very bored with GTA just going around killing people, the early games had very clever missions you would go on, so I was always excited about what to do next.
And I looked through several more, and they had Rock Band and Guitar Hero...yeah...that's a "game" alright!

Went through the top ten, it's a solid top ten for the 2000's.

Actually, I'd kinda like to see how the world would handle that. I think some of the "gamers" I've met would immedietly either orgasm repeatedly or explode.

Why is GTA III number one? I understand that was the game that launched the series from cult favorite to the game next-to-everyone plays in high school, but come on Vice City and San Andreas were both lightyears beyond it.

Agreed. VC had the 80s theme going for it and SA was much bigger and over the top.

I actually enjoyed the music in VC so much I bought the Boxed Collection. But for me, other than stealing cars to listen to some of my favorite tunes, the game just didn't blow my socks off. I can appreciate someone else liking it, but it's just not my bag. It's just like listening to Eminem, its good for a while then I start to get a sick feeling in my stomach and never pick it up again.
Top Games of the 2000's? IDK, Kingdom Hearts, Ninja Gaiden, Marvel V Capcom 2 should have cracked the top 20. Super Mario Galaxy at 23? Madden 10? I love Madden but this year sucked beyond belief to me. Hmmm, Tony Hawks Pro Skater or Little Big Planet? Yeah this list is suspect to say the least.

It isn't my cup of tea, but GTA III revolutionized gaming. It was the first game that really opened a world up for you to do whatever you want. I'm not saying it deserves #1. I personally think it has been more destructive than constructive with regards to helping the future of gaming, but when comparing it to its successors, it was the title that really changed the way things were done in a big way. The others are just minor upgrades in comparison.
As for Mario Galaxy, I think it should have been ranked better.
The list itself is in poor format, slow, and impossible to navigate.

Yes it was impossible to navigate.
I don't see why people are being harsh towards GTA III. Yes, it DOES deserve to be #1 because like someone said, it was the first game to revolutionize open world and being able to do whatever you want. Sure Vice City was the better game, and some may argue San Andreas and IV. But it's not about the minor things they tweaked later, it's about how much of a step that game took. There was so much controversy around III, I hardly heard anything about the later games. And it would be impossible to rank the games, if you go by bigger is better. Madden for example always makes steps in each game, and is always considered the "new best sports game of all time". Well no shit it's better than the last game, who would buy it if it was worse?

GTA III revolutionized video gaming. The same claim cannot be seriously made about the later games in the series.

Speaking of top video game lists, has anyone seen the latest issue of Game Informer. its issue #200 and it has a "top 200 video games of all time" list. I thought it was a very well put together list.

how is "they play shitty FPS all day but never want to go to war" a valid argument? That's like berating people who like Rock Band for not playing real guitar.
