I didn't really get the first one, and didn't find it all that entertaining, but the 2nd one definitely was awesome.

Love the series. I think everyone's favorite is part 2. I met Reggie Bannister, the guy who plays Reggie in the series.

I loved the series. I always wanted to own one of the balls in those movies. I would pay a shitload of money to get an original prop one.

Here in Britain, they sell the movies in a novelty DVD package that is a plastic Phantasm sphere. It's pretty awesome and I don't think it's available in the states which is weird.

Ah, here it is: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Phantasm-Sphere-Complete-Collection-DVD/dp/B000B6F8OG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1257635714&sr=8-3

My brother imported one of those just to get that case. He actually has it out on display. I wanted one too, but I can't justify buying it when I only have one DVD player that plays imports and a couple of the movies on DVD already. I always wondered why it wasn't released in the U.S. too.

Yeah, it's strange, especially for an American movie. Usually it's the other way around where the US gets the cool stuff, and Europe gets screwed.

The same thing happened with the Hellraiser box set too. Over here in the UK, they got an awesome limited edition novelty puzzle box, while in the US, it's just a regular old 3-DVD case. I've made sure to pick one up, as well as the Phantasm sphere before I move back to the US.

Wow I'm glad to hear the second one was better because I saw the first one and it was fucking retarded.

I don't have a signature. Sorry. Try again later.. probably not though.

Despite your barely coherent typing, that's a possibility as to why the releases are different. But no, Anchor Bay controls both the domestic and internation distribution for Phantasm, which begs the question even more as to why they never brought any kind of novelty packaging to the states.

Anchor Bay has the rights to the first, third and fourth movies. In the U.S., the rights to distribute Phantasm II is owned by Universal Home Entertainment, so that is probably why we didn't get the cool sphere set here.

It didn't even have a DVD release here in the states untill a couple of months ago. I had to buy a bootleg.

Thought the first was really entertaining and might seek out the rest and watch them someday.

I'd rent both the first and second one just so you have some point of reference going into the second one. I'm not sure if you can just jump right into the second one and enjoy it as much if you'd never seen the first.

If you like 80s and 90s creepy slasher flicks, you'll like Phantasm.
