I am still pissed I don't have my Kraken toy anymore. That fucker goes for a fortune now. As far as a remake goes Greek legends make for good movies. They should try to find a unique story though instead of taking the lazy route. I am not a writer, but I am pretty sure I could come up with something if needed. I am so sick of remakes.

Looks....full of CGI
I mean that's a step up from what we got the first time, but nonetheless...very generic "dark brooding" teaser posters.

Yeah looks like they are going down the route of a 300 style for Clash of the Titans, I can see the fight scenes already ( Slow-mo anyone?)...maybe it's just me but I think this is one of those movies that a remake is totally unneeded and at least for me unwanted.

What a great opportunity to use some modern animatronics (is that an oxymoron?), cool make-up, or even stop motion stuff and make a statement that those are still effective movie techniques and that's why we loved Clash of the Titans (and Jason and the Argonauts). But no, they'll just go with bland, generic CGI. Lame.

Ummmm, this is going to sound blasphemous but i don't remember the original. I looked it up on Wiki and other then seeing the box art at a video store, nothing is ringing any bells. and i'll agree with everyone on the CGI is lazy and bull, but i'll save my ranting for a remake of something i'm more familiar with.

Ray Harryhausen's still alive. Get Harryhausen and Jim Danforth involved in this, or I don't fucking care.

The battle with Medusa ranks as one of my all-time favorite scenes. Will be curious to see how this remake turns out.

Hal Sparks made a good point on one of those VH1 shows, when Perseus uses the Medusa head to turn the Kraken to stone, he then holds up the head to the onlooking crowd...so why don't they turn to stone?

I liked the old movie a great deal. The Medusa in particular was great, because the weird movie stop motion magic that Harryhausen makes have a distinct sort of personality to them. Its not really describable but there you go. What I do know is that the limitations on the critter movement meant that the fights, while a bit dated, demanded that the creature be fully visible and deliberate in movement, which cut any jumps scares or muddled manic screen filling CGI fights.
Something about this movie gives the distinct vibe of excessive crappy action movie, which doesn't entice.
