you know, that trailer looks REALLY epic for a live action version of this:
I don't really want to see either. Besides, we ALL know what the REAL Avatar is...
Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

As much as I hate M. Night Shyamalan, I'd watch his live action movie over Cameron's goofy CGI bullshit any day of the week. We waited over ten years for Cameron to make another movie, and we get this? Fucking asshole.
His last film was Titanic, are you really surprised? His Aliens/Terminator days are done. Why make a $100-$200 million grossing sci-fi film, when you can make $500+ million blockbuster crap?

Furries? They strike me more like alien/elves to me...
Cameron is Hollywood's most notorious perfectionist. He's been working on this straight since Titanic. This may actually end up knocking it off its perch.

I'm confused...is this Avatar thing based on anything? When I worked at Toys R Us, they had a few toys based off of a children's series called Avatar...so I was under the assumption that this had something to do with the kid's show.

It looks like it's based on notorious crapfest, Delgo.

Even though the "Downfall" meme is somewhat overused, I found this to be pretty funny; I especially like the quote that "Cameron has spent too much time underwater".

Okay, to clear up confusion
There's AVATAR, James Camerons oddball mix of bald grunting space marines and weird furry creature
Then there's The Last Airbender, M Night Shamylamylams live action epic fantasy movie based on the "Avatar: The last Airbender" series.

So this is his Duke Nukem Forever? Too bad it couldn't have suffered the same fate.
He made one of the absolute most acclaimed movies in "The Deer Hunter" and followed it up with "Heaven's Gate".
I'm not necessarily calling Cameron a has been, but there's SO much negative press over this movie right now, it'll be almost impossible to change things.

For some reason, the Avatar with the blue furries to me is kind of like the Asylum Film to Avatar: The Last Airbender in that the only reason it's called Avatar is to confused the Airbender crowed into seeing it.
It's like an Admiral Ackbar moment.

No, here's the thing: James Cameron concieved and began work on this movie after the hitherto unsurpassed success of Titanic, title included, well before Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko created Avatar: The Last Airbender. When news of Cameron's Avatar broke out, M. Night Shamaylan dropped the main title from his cartoon-based epic and kept the subtitle.

Oh, I wonder how Avatar: Last Airbender fans feel about that.
