Like UsaSatsui did some time ago, I'll do a playthrough of a Final Fantasy game where you can choose who you want to be.
I decided to play Final Fantasy 66, a hack of VI. It makes some pretty big changes to the game, mostly to make it harder. Here are some of them :
- Different translation. The American version made some changes to the script. This one has the Japanese script translated accurately.
So if you wanted to know what the original looked like, that's quite nice. But the American script is better IMO.
- Non-magicians can't learn Magic anymore. So if you want Espers, you'll have to pick either Terra, Celes, Strago, Relm, Gogo or ... Gau?
The other characters gain other abilities (Locke has throw, Edgar can Jump, Shadow can Blitz, Cyan has Shock...).
- Characters get different stats. Sabin doesn't have a high Magic Stat anymore, Relm has no defense whatsoever, and Locke is really damn fast.
- NO FUCKING EVADE BUG
There are other stuff, but it's getting too long. The names have a limit of 6 characters.
I'll try to record it as much as possible, but currently it could be quite a hassle. Snes9x' AVI recorder is total crap, so I'll use HyperCam or something.
If nobody is interested, I'll just play the game normally.
Anyway, here's who I can rename in the game (I'll update when a character is chosen). Tell me if I missed one.
Terra : Andy
Locke : Satsui
Edgar : MrGlee
Sabin : Viktor
Celes : Megama
Shadow : IceWar
Cyan : Ash
Setzer : Syd
Mog : Blump (?)
Strago : Naunie
Relm : Broad
Gau : Vald
Umaro : Harry
Gogo : Fernin

I believe he just gave a random name without any reference to himself, so I'll give you Gogo.
Started recording a bit, but damn, either the sound is desynched, or it's full of background noise.
Reached that cave where those Moogles come to help and couldn't beat the boss.
