I really hope we get an english translation of this game the way it was supposed to be, with the original 8-bit graphics. Not the fancy DS version geared toward the younger 'graphics whore' generation. I will never play the DS version until I play it the REAL way.
It seems too hard to find an english version of the original game right now. There needs to be a re-release or something so that we can find one easier.

It would be awesome if they did the VC release like they do with couple of the NES and N64 games

There's likely a translation patch for the ROM out there somewhere. I've run translation patches on FF2, FF4 Hard Type, and FF5.
I used to have a fully translated FF3 on an emulator. Beat it twice.

There is... one of the related videos to this is the translated game as if it were played by a five year-old... He names his characters Fart99 butt and some other retardeness

I'm sorry, but that argument stinks too much of a retrof*g who ignores everything after 1992. FF3 DS is the better experience, even though it's absurdly (and almost unfairly) difficult.
Also, graphics don't help a game, but they don't hurt it, and if it matches good gameplay (in this case), well, that doesn't hurt either!
It's not being a retrof*g man, I don't know anyone who would rather play a remake of a game before getting to play the original. That said, I enjoy the DS one a lot.

Eh, FF3DS is okay, but it's not pretty enough. I'm generally not one to criticize graphics, and I think that most sprites hold up pretty well 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 years later. But I cannot STAND early 3D games. And FF3DS, with it's disgusting blocky PS1/N64 style graphics is an ugly game.
I don't like Final Fantasy III, but I'm not really such a fan of that style of "character selection". It's pretty much "Choose which limitation you want for this next set of fights". Except for that little detail, I thought the game was kind of cool.
Final Fantasy V did the "class system" thing far better, but I still don't really like that game either.

Actually the newest game in this series I've played is FFIX which I think came out in 2000, 8 years after 1992 which I've been acused of ignoring everything since. But even with IX, I wouldn't want to play a remake of it before playing the original. As with FF 1, playing the original for years then playing the remake on the playstation and seeing how radically different they are makes me wonder what playing the orignal version of FF2 was like. Especially since I only got to play a remake of that. So I'd much rather play the original version of FFIII instead of the DS version since the technological leap would be even greater over time than with FF2. I'll stick with the original.

Maybe they'll release a translated version of Final Fantasy III and Destiny of an Emperor 2 on the Vconsole. That would be awesome. Course that means I'll have to save up to buy a Wii.

Square did port the original to the VC. Last month, I think?
Anyway, yeah, I would definitely buy all the FFs on the VC. EVEN Mystic Quest.
I now bestow upon you the title of Most Awesome Person.

I posit that you ought to actually play the Famicom version. The DS version is for wimps.
The pace is super slow in it. Where a battle should take seconds it takes minutes. And the hidden areas become twice as obvious as usual. (Zoom in and find sparkles? REALLY!?)
The music is pretty bad too. They did not bother to expand on any of the songs, instead opting for bland loops of boring strings and horn swells.
Still a good game, I am just sayin' is all.

I really wish this would come our way.
I played the game with an emulator patch and fell in love, probably my third favorite 2d FF game, and my favorite of the NES series.
What was that video all about?
Yeah it's been released on VC in Japan, but I just hope there's a translation out there for us.
I'm not too familiar with the VC, I've only bought two games on there (Super Castlevania 4 and LttP), do they ever do translations for games?
