http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,572305,00.html

"There have been several previous deadly incidents at Ft. Hood, including a shooting of one soldier by another at a party in July; a rape and fatal shooting of an Army medic at her apartment near the post 11 years ago; and the murder-suicide of a lieutenant by a soldier in September 2008."

So what the fuck is going on at that place? Something in the water?

I'm not really sure what to say, I will probably keep following the story though. This stuff is happening more and more often it seems.

A friend of mine is stationed at Ft. Hood, I called him when I found out what was going on, he was a couple miles away when it happened. I heard one of the shooters names was Major Malik Nadal Hasan.

Yeah, they are trying to blame the whole thing on terrorism, calling the shooter a "Terrorist".

People go crazy. People who see crazy shit go crazy. It happens.

And to the people who automatically assume terrorism and make fun of or call out every foreign sounding name, "Hey shit head's, your "terrorist" had no trouble joining your "army". Go die."

This may very well be a completely domestic problem that has nothing to do with terrorism. A lot of people refuse to believe problems like this originate right here. This shit is awful and it saddens me, but is most likely as American as apple pie.

A witness says the shooter that was shot down was shouting in Arabic. I think we can now safely assume this might have something to do with terrorists.

The gunman and the two other people apprehended in connection with the shootings are soldiers. Don't make this about terrorism especially if it just isn't.

People do exist that speak Arabic and aren't terrorists. I wouldn't rule anything out, but it just doesn't seem like a terrorist attack.

I'm aware that there are people who speak Arabic that are not terrorists, but usually when someone of Middle Eastern descent goes on a killing spree somewhere in the US while shouting Arabic, 9 times out of 10 its a Islamic terrorist. Three soldiers do not just up and decide today is a good day to start killing people.

Yeah, this is absolutely crazy. I can't wait for my extreme right-wing mother to gossip about more "evil terrorism".

Worst betrayal by a brother soldier ever. Crying Thank god everyone responded so quickly. I can't imagine what its like for those poor families, or worse, the soldiers from Ft. Hood who are getting this news while they're deployed. Its making me sick just thinking about it.

You know how I was born in Texas? Well, I don't know if I ever mentioned it was Fort Hood I grew up in. Dad was the commander of the 63rd Engineer Corps, attached to Hood's First Cavalry. I was born in the hospital they're taking all those soldiers too. I haven't seen the place since I was eight, and on the news like this is not the way I ever, ever wanted to see it again. Was weirdly enough planning a trip back there with my mom over Thanksgiving weekend, to see where I grew up again and get in touch with my roots as it were. Was also looking forward to using my military ID to get back on the base where I was born. Plan kinda scrapped now. What. The holy. Fuck?

Yeah I am totally not the melodramatic type, nor am I overly religious but all I can really say is I am praying for the families of the victims, praying for the wounded and praying for the family of the shooter. Those brave people deserved better than this.

Turns out the shooter, Nidal Malik Hasan, hasn't been killed. He was shot 4 times, but it is in the hospital under stable condition.

He was also born in the U.S. and was a Major. Somehow I doubt this was an Islamic terrorist attack.

I am by no means a religious man but tonight my thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. I wish every one of the wounded a quick and full recovery.

Heh, sorry. I didn't mean to go all melodrama. This just wasn't what I expected to find when I signed onto the forums and it caught me off guard, especially once I turned on the TV.

So we know now that this guy was a Muslim. He had been telling his co-workers for weeks that "every Muslim should stand up against the Americans", but no, this was not religiously motivated. No terrorist activity.

Wow! Thank you for your insight!, but I am pretty sure that when someone goes on a killing spree on unsuspecting people it is a act of terrorism. You don't have to be a card carrying member of Al Qaeda or be joined to the hip with Osama Bin Laden. Hell you can even be from the US! Timothy McVeigh is considered to be a terrorist.

Don't make this about terrorism? See above.

Those stupid rightwingers and their god damn warrantless wire taps! LOL
Everytime something like this happens, people try to downplay what is really going on. A group of muslim converts were caught in my state plotting a big attack on American civilians and people in the media said things like "these aren't terrorists, these are just unorganized thugs". They had been traveling to Pakistan off and on for the last two years.

Okay, well then how would you describe what happened? Was he a Muslim? Was the place he opened fire at a location where people were coming back from their tours in Afganistan & Iraq? Did he tell the people he worked with that "Muslims need to take a stand against the U.S." Your right, there is no way this could be Islamic terrorism.

You people are so worried about being PC that you can't even admit the obvious. I don't have that flaw. I know who the enemy is and I'm not afraid to call them what they are, Islamic extremists, Muslim jihaidist nutjobs.

This is not terrorism. This is a display of the army's very, very low standards. They let anyone join, and they have a Co-Ed bootcamp. Maybe the army should do a little more to prepare these people for war instead of just promising them college and job placement after they serve. Look at their commercials, job training this, college tuition that, how bout mentioning multiple deployments to these kids? I joined the Marines because the guy was straight up, he said, if you want to know what we can offer you take a hike. If you have something to offer us, let me know.

This guy would have never made it through Marine Corps OSC, let alone become a fucking major. This guy was just pushed to the edge because he was already a nut-job and when you throw fear into the mix it just pushed him over the edge. Besides, this a fixed news story, and I tend not to believe everything I hear from a network that creates a channel that is inappropriate and then goes on to create a news channel to point out whats wrong with it. Either way, I doubt it was terrorism, just some guy who was shuffled through the ranks and didn't belong in the military, although the army needs its numbers and kept him anyway. I dub this act "turd-pussyism".

Let's not pretend the Marines commercials are any better:

Nearly every Marines commercial I've seen plays up the fact that you get a sword. A sword that you don't even use in combat. I can't find it, but I swear to God there's a more recent one where the Marine uses his sword to deflect fire, possibly from a dragon.

As for the Army, the need to start recruiting EARLIER. You may not be able to deploy until age 18, but that doesn't mean there shouldn't be military academies you can enroll in as early as age 5. And there need to commercials for these academies. The tagline? "It's Just Like Hogwarts."

Lol, you do get a sword, and let me tell you the fucking dragons at Paris Island are no joke. I remember that commercial, dodging fire beasts and such, that one was on when I joined.

This is the video they show you in boot camp when they talk about suicide awareness, lol.

(WARNING RELIGOUS TEXT UP AHEAD)

This is why many people think muslims are terrorist.

“Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him.” (Hadith Al Buhkari vol. 9:57)

But ignore the passages such as these

"Whoever kills another one without justifiable cause, surely he is killing all of humanity. And whoever saves the life of another one, surely he saves the lives of all of humanity." [Sura Al Ma'aidah: Ayah 32]

Wait, you get a sword?
