I fucking hate people who add a reserve price. Just fucking start the bidding at you minimum sale price, what is the point in accepting low ball offers that you know you aren't going to accept?

What's a reserve price? I'm actually not sure. From context I'm guessing its a minimum price the seller requires, and the auction falls through if its not met?
If that's true, then yes, that's the dumbest thing ever. Rydog is right--just set your minimum bid and go from there.

Well in fairness a reserve price I believe is cheaper then a Minimum bid in this instance. Plus large minimum bids do not entice the buyer as much as a low starting bid does, and Hawk you are correct. If the price is not met the seller pays a fee for not having to sell it below the reserve price, and if it does meet the reserve they are not charged a fee.

The thing about a minimum bid is that everyone knows what it is. The reserve price is not listed, unless the seller makes a point of listing it in the description. You just see "RESERVE NOT MET" by the high bid.

^ That's my problem.I would be highly annoyed if I bid and won, and then had it pulled out from under me because it didn't meet an invisible minimum I wasn't aware of.

A reserve price is the minimum a seller will sell for, so they can start the bidding at $1, but the item won't sell unless bidding reaches the reserve(which you don't know), lets pretend for this item it is $2500. Until the bidding reaches $2500, all bids are useless. So I guess if you want to stimulate bidding between people who probably won't get close to your reserve, then go ahead. But if someone is serious about buying 673 video games for over $2000, then I would say they know the value and what they are willing to pay as well.
EDIT: You are notified when the reserve has been met, as Syd stated you can clearly see that it hasn't been met and even if you are the high bidder you know that you won't win the item at your current bid.

See, the thing is, about 300 of those games are gimmicky pieces of trash or complete rehashes.

That's the problem with this auction, 300-400 of those games are worth a buck or less. Unless you had the space/money to burn, this would be a tough buy.
