Well, I'm convinced. I'm never, ever watching this movie. This is way, way, WAY worse than Batman And Robin.

I actually prefer it over Superman III.

But I've never liked Supes, all the movies in my eyes aren't good to watch.

Now, if it was a Superdickery movie....I'd be in line right now

I'll probably unlock it after ten minutes.

Any negative posting against Superman IV: The Quest For Peace will be met with severe banning with prejudice.

The very worst episode of SmallVille is better then Superman IV by the power of 10 Suns. This is true and Baiting at the same time.

This is not true, Douche. We both know the vampire episode of season 5 is the worst episode of "Smallville" ever and "Superman IV" is light years better than that piece of shit. Coincidentally, that episode is better than "Superman Returns" purely because of James Marsters... And that all the ridiculous horrible action is far more entertaining than the none existent action of "Returns".

Yes it is better than III and I'll give you II (the non-Donner one, not his abortion), but I can make an argument against I as a comic book movie -- however in terms of great superhero cinema, not as much.

Superman IV had an EXCELLENT story. Could it have possibly been executed better? Sure. But I appreciate what they were going for.

I really enjoyed it, and it's different enough to really warrant a watch.

It's pretty awful. A lot of the best scenes are gone, a lot of new dumb scenes are added. The music is NOT the score from II but remixed versions from I (which pretty much ruin the Metropolis fight). It doesn't mesh with the end of I and there's a change to allow "Superman Returns" to happen.

That said, there are good things about it: Marlon Brando. And Zod shouting "FREE!!!!!!!" in the vacuum of space which I started to shout out a lot thanks to this cut, cheese-tastic.

Sups clearly has that power in the movies as he uses it again in IV. Hell, Zod levitated a man in II, Sups rebuilt the Great Wall of China with his eyes, say what you will, but Superman's powers are consistent in the films*. And personally, I like the kiss way more than flying around the world backwards.

EDIT: * The REAL films, not the fake fan film which is Donner's II. About which about 70% of the reason it's worthless is the editing (music, scenes, effects, ADR). 25% is Donner's ego and change in perspective -- had Donner circa 1979 had edited it, it most likely would've been a better film. And for completests, the other 5% is what can be chalked up to other.

I take a turd every morning, that's consistent too, should I film it?

Superman IV is plagued the most by a weak storyline and low budget. It and III compete for the worst Superman media I have ever seen. I hated it, hated hated hated it (like Roger Ebert with North).

EDIT: Could this be the worst movie that Gene Hackman was ever in?
