Anyone else getting this? Preordered it off Amazon, my copy shipping today. Projected delivery date: Friday.

I am more excited for this than I am for Halloween.

I loved Tekken 2, 3, and Tag Tourney, but I loathed 4 and 5. From what I heard they're making juggling even worse in this version, so I'm in no hurry to play it on consoles. If I see it at an arcade however, I'll cruise through it with Heihachi like I always do.

I will be getting it, but I don't predict getting into it as much as I have with street fighter.

lol I got it yesterday. Gameplay-wise, nothing much has changed, which, considering it's Tekken, is for better or worse. However, the Loading Times are absolutely garbage, the Story Mode (a.k.a. Scenario Campaign') is pretty much another version of the 'Tekken Force/Devil Within' Minigames from previous Tekkens, which means it sucks, and I keep hearing the online is really laggy (Haven't tried it yet). Other than that, the graphics are noticeably better (Especially the detail on the character models and some of the backgrounds) and the sound is ehh.

Of course, I've only had/played the game for a little over a day, so I haven't seen anywhere near as much as the game has, so take my assessment for what it is.

If you have it for X360, then try installing it on your hard drive to see if it loads faster.

It will load inherently faster on the 360 vs. the PS3 anyway.

My brother preordered the game just for the Cardboard Tube Samurai costume for Yoshimitsu. We be Penny Arcade fans Very Happy

I actually haven't played much Tekken, outside of Tekken 3 for the PSX. Although watching my brother play it, this ieteration is GORGEOUS. and the gameplay looks fun. Similar to Soul Calibur, though, so it shouldn't be too hard to pick up.

WHY DOES THE KANGAROO HAVE SUCH A SERIOUS STORY!? It's a freaking Kangaroo for crying out loud! It doesn't need fame or fight money or college or anything! Laughing

Ha, I preordered it for the same reason. I was too cheap to pay for express shipping though.

They didn't add in Super Moves, did they? That was one of my big complaints about Soul Calibur 4...

I haven't installed it yet, partly because the IGN Reviewer (Yeah, I know) said the load times were still long when the game was installed. I will eventually, though--The Load Times are making the 'Scenario Campaign' even more of a sluggish chore than it already is...

soul calibur didn't have super moves, it had useless insta kills that were nearly impossible to do.

Well, yeah. That's a more apt description. But it was a dumb addition.

The loading times are pretty fast for me; I have it for 360 and haven't installed to the harddrive (yet). Gameplay's great, but juggling is a hassle, especially when up against Lili. I've had some lag online, but that's just my router acting up.

And scenario is only good if you want to get money or items for customization.

I haven't played the 1P modes in Tekken 4 or 5, because I didn't own them or even the system they were on, but I loved Tekken Force Mode in Tekken 3. Cheesy, yes, but fun.

Yeah, Scenario is pretty much like that (I loved it too). Although it follows one story (Lars), you can pick anybody once you defeat them. This game is so good. D:

...Yeah, I agree. Tekken 3's Tekken Force Mode was kinda cool at first..Until you tried to unlock Bosconovitch. That's when I picked Gunjack and went through the stages ridiculously easily (Thanks to Gamepro for the tip).

Load Times Update: I installed Tekken 6 last night, and it does cut the Load times considerably shorter (Thank God)...

Is it just me, or did this seem to play slower than the PS1/PS2 Tekkens?

Also, how do I get to watch the character endings? I beat arcade mode with Nina, and it went straight to the credits.

I had been thinking of getting this, although I dunno, I just got Borderlands and MW2 comes out in like two weeks.

Too many good games coming out, ah.

...You have to unlock character Prologues and Endings through the Scenario Campaign mode. After beating a stage or two in that Mode, you'll unlock 'The Arena.' As you unlock characters in Scenario Campaign Mode (I'm pretty far in, and I've yet to unlock Nina, for example, due to her role in Tekken 6's story), you'll be able to pick them in 'The Arena.'

After only 4 matches (Two regular fights, a fight with either Jin or Kazuya [Depending on what character you pick, I guess], then Azaziel), you'll get your characters' ending.
