Everyone enjoys Puzzle Bobble. Hell, it's even in Puzzle Pirates.

Speaking of Puzzle Pirates, let me start a thread...

There used to be a local arcade back in the day...real fuckin rip off place that charged far too much to play games, but the one game I would always go for was Bust-A-Move. I absolutely owned at that game. I saw it was ported to the SNES when I was at a store a few years ago, and snatched it up. Good times.

I'm pretty awesome at Street Fighter II.

Unless I wind up on the right side of the screen. Then I'm fucked.

I'm the exact same way at all the PS2 MKs (which I have a deep and abiding love for.) I'm awesome at comboing with any character, until the controls get flipped. Then I might as well just play blindfolded.

You guys are all nubs, any gaming achievements I haven't achieved are intentional because the respective game is in fact gay and not worth my time.

also, I never beat the first FF until I was an adult...

im terrible at fighting games on either side of the screen. but its just weird that you guys get so turned around like that. just flip the controls. idk, it just seems like a weird handicap

Pulling off a fireball or dragonpunch is not easy. Learning to do them is a right of passage, pulling them off in combat is a trial by fire.

But seriously, the motor skill to perform them is much easier when working toward the inside of the pad (for me), which is why I'm stronger on the left side of the screen. I think it's a combination of two points: A) That's the side you start on most of the time B) Pushing toward the center of the pad lets you put more "weight" into it, and you feel steadier. I always feel like I'm going to fall off the pad when going toward the outside.

I've played plenty of NES games in my childhood, but I never had an NES until just this recent summer.

I can never regret the purchase. I totally missed out on a lot of great NES games, including Ninja Gaiden and Contra.

Had the same problem growing up, my mom wouldn't allow it, but I played games all the time at other people's houses. I didn't get a system until I was 10, and that was a SNES. I didn't pick up an NES until 2001, where I got the brand new system and about 30 games for $50. Now my collection is well over 200 games.

I have never beat Simon's Quest or Darkwing Duck for the NES, although they are some of my favorite games. I did however rock fuckin' hard in Chip N' Dale: Rescue Rangers. I first beat that game at like age 9 and I felt incredible!! It did have a typical retarded NES ending like most of the games at it's time.

Well, I'm glad to know that I'm not alone on Sydlexia on not having an NES in my childhood.

At least the Virtual Console is a pretty good substitute, except for not having the Zapper games, that is.

I never had the patience to finish the original Legend of Zelda. It seems like the game was created with profiting off of guides and the Nintendo Hotline with all of its secrets and lack of direction.

Also, I never had the patience to play more than an hour of any GTA game except for 4. They just controlled too badly for me to invest the time in trying to work around the problem.

It's funny you mention GTA4, because I can't play more than an hour of that. All the missions are so much alike...I miss the days of using an ice cream truck to blow people up, or launching porn ads out of a plane. All GTA4 seemed to offer was tailing someone or going to a warehouse and killing them.

Not saying it was any better, just more accessible, and had the benefit of checkpoints if you died.

For the longest time, I had no idea how to do Akuma's Azure slide move (F+D+DF All three punch buttons), until I found you push all the punch buttons, not pressing one three times Razz

Also, it took me two years to beat the Tarantula boss in Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals. I dunno why, I couldn't beat the jerk. Then I picked it up one day and just did it
