Haha...I laughed at the first two since they were both Hugh Jackman. Good stuff...especially agree with Indiana Jones.

Had they used those quotes, the movies would've made MORE money!

I'm sad Independence Day was used. That was a fantastic movie! Every other Emmerich movie is crap though. Why not use 10,000 BC?

What's sad is I tried talking my dad out of it on several occasions and still deciding to rent it, thus proving I was right about how shitty it was.

I believe I hold the distinction of the only person in the United States that really enjoyed Godzilla.

I'm actually a fan of Roland Emmerich's works. Something about them just appeals to me somehow. The most recent addition to my DVD collection is currently Stargate, which I didn't know was where he started until last year, and I enjoyed it. 2012? Looking forward to it.

Everytime I watch Independence Day it seems to get worse. It was cool when it came out and I saw it for the first time, now, I think it's bad.

This one time I was filming something and then had to get something and put the camera down. I didn't turn the camera off so it recorded the bookcase for 2 hours. I bring this up because that was better than independence day.

I completely agree.
I knew the show was crap from the first two episodes which burned the memory of the first movie to the ground. From there the show became "Star Trek". Right now it's in Voyager mode.
And "Independence Day" is the shit. From there Emmerich's career takes a downturn, but "The Patriot" really holds up as well.

It's not an Oscar film by any means. Maybe that's why I like it. It's also manipulative, inaccurate as hell, and Mel Gibson before the meltdown. Good times.

That should've been a given, as him and Mel Gibson have deliberately tried to rewrite history before. The main antagonist in movie didn't even die during the Revolutionary War. And it tends to make the Brittish look like absolute animals. Of course, that's call the kettle black if you look at how we treated the Native Americans/injuns.

I love Independence Day. It's one of my favorite movies. I also like Emmerich's Noah's Ark Principle. It's an eco sci-fi movie and while not as good as, say, Silent Running, it's still worth watching. It's also notable because Emmerich managed to get a budget of about half a million dollars for it, despite it only being his thesis project at film school. Say about his big budget special effects movies what you want, they're the kind of films he loves and always wanted to make. I respect that.
