The third in the ReBirth series after Gradius Rebirth and Contra ReBirth (out now in the US WiiWare store btw, grab that shit) is coming.
It's exactly what is says on the tin, a remake of the first Game Boy game, which totally needed it.
Who's hyped?

Sparkster needs some love. They made a reference to him in Shattered Soldier, then he dropped off the face of the earth again. :(

Sparkster is fun, but a remake of ZAMN would be beyond amazing

That's a LucasArts property, IIRC, but I agree.

Yea, but more classic game companies should definitely take a cue from Konami and do Rebirth series' of their own. Especially Capcom.

I bought it. If you like the original Contra on NES, you'll probably like this one. It's pretty much a straight ahead run-and-gun. I like it...good thing my brain doesn't connect Wii Points as real money, though; 10 bucks is a little high for it.

IMO MvC2 is too contemporary to really count. The game does not look a whole lot different from the original Dreamcast build (because it is built from it).
I am talking more about games that came out in the late 80's/early 90's that could really use a re-imagining of sorts.

that was my take as well. is $10 worth a contra game? i'll do some more research on it.

Someone previously mentioned that Sparkster needed some love, and someone at Konami must be listening to us for once, a new 3-D installment in the Sparkster series is on its way to XBLA, PSN, and Steam!!!

Looks pretty sweet to me, I always felt like Christopher Belmont's place in the time line was sort of shafted, maybe this will give him more depth.

If anyone so much as touches "Day of the Tentacle" with grimy remake fingers then I will swiftly chop them to bits. "Crystalis" would be great though, even though the original still stands up fine.

Both Gradius and Contra went through this ReBirth process well. They aren't exactly remakes, but they are completely new games with old elements thrown in. I strongly suggest getting both of them. With Konami you can't go wrong, right?
Now, if they also made a Metal Gear ReBirth game. I would shit myself from the intensity of the nerdgasm I would achieve.
