Fester's Quest was okay, but it was the weakest of the Sunsoft games. Not as deserving of a spot as Batman, Journey To Silius, or Blaster Master. Hell, even Gremlins 2 was better.
Can someone post the whole list? |
Batman 33
Journey to Silius 81
Gremlins 2 unlisted

DW III is way better than I or II. i dont care about the impact the originals had, if i had to pick out of those 3, i would definitely pick DWIII. and its only 96?!?! fuck that list.

Seconded. DW3 was such an amazing game. Truly my favorite of the four NES games.

Thirded. I have played Final Fantasy enough. Been there, done that. But Dragon Warrior III never, ever gets old.

Double Dragon III and no original Double Dragon? Ghosts 'N Goblins? Metal Gear and no Snake's Revenge? I really really wish the non-canoness of Snake's Revenge would stop people from judging it by that, Metal Gear while canon, SUCKS on NES. Mega Man 1 and 2 don't deserve to be that high either.

Ah, okay then. Yeah that's the final boss.
Double Dragon III kinda sucked. DD2 was definitely the best.
Keiji Inafune considers Mega Man 2 to the best. I disagree, but a lot of people don't. I like MM3 the best. MM1 is a great fucking game, and needs to be on the list. 30 is a reasonable position for it. It made #20 on our list.

i agree. DDIII is ranked way too high. like you said, part II is better. and even battletoads/double dragon is better than part III. at least, its funner.

Am I the only one who found DDIII unplayable? I can't get past the first level, get my ass handed to me every time.

I can't believe they listed Mario Bros.
Mario Bros. was a regressive arcade port that underused the console. Why not just include Donkey Kong and Pac-Man too?

I see what they were doing I guess by putting DWI in the top ten because it started it all or whatever. But DWIII is clearly a better game.
With this list, I had a hard time deciding if they were going for quality, impact, or favoritism. It looks like all three, but that doesn't make for a very good list.

I tried to play Fester's Quest again this summer. That game was as annoying today as I remembered it being 15 years ago. Those fuckin frog things are way too fast and the mazes are a pain in the ass. TMNT was absurd, IGN's list is inferior to Syd's by far. After reading Syd's list I went and got Abadox at the record exchange for five bucks. It says something about IGN list quality when Syd's lowest game is better than a lot of their middle ranked ones.

Yeah Abadox kicks ass, but I cannot get past the second half of level 5. If you lose the power ups it is absurdly difficult, not that is a walk in the park with them.

Don't get me wrong, Syd & Co. have a much better list that stands head and shoulders above IGNs...but the fact that IGN put Battletoads & Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team on there makes me very very happy.

Yeah, that game was cheap in alot of areas and was a test of patience.

Indeed, even though Battletoads 2 With Special Guests Billy and Jimmy Lee was better on both 16-bit platforms, I loved pretty much all four versions.

Why are most of the games on this list on most worst games ever list? I can only guess it is to get people complaining about it on forums so it gets hits. The list here is much, much better.
