Anyone play this board game? It's pretty fun. There's a shitload of expansion packs and stuff that make it doubly fun. I think I may play it tonight.....
If you haven't heard of it, well then, you suck....

Fun times. CAPCOM commissioned a special MegaMan.exe version for just Japan.

A friend of my brother's has it. Kinda hard to play at times, but it's fun when you get to screw with other people.

I was under the impression that Settlers of Catan is older than any of those. If I'm incorrect, then I'm thinking of the wrong game because I definitely played something that was like the board game precursor to Civilization that was older and unrelated to Sid Meier.

Amazing game. I play it with coworkers at the comic shop when we get bored. I never get enough wheat. No matter what I do.

I bought it for the Xbox Live Arcade, it is really fun when playing online.

I first heard of it on XBLA, but just recently saw that the Schuler Books near my house actually HAS it, and like 3 expansions. I think it had Carcasonne too. Both are fairly fun, i'd like to try them with "real" people someday.

This might be digging up an old topic, but lately some of the IRC regulars have been playing Settlers online at http://games.asobrain.com/ Its been loads of fun and anyone interested should sign up and register there so we maybe can get some kind of settlers league going on.

The nerd office at my old college plays this game all the time. I've been wanting to jump in but i'm either distracted by a good video game being played or the sight of the rare hot gamer girl or both.

Yeah, we should probably make a separate room for Settlers, much like how when people play Magic there's a separate room for that. It's kinda annoying being in a chatroom of 13 people and no one's talking at all except to set up the next game of Settlers.

I wonder how much trouble it is to set up a clan on Asobrain.
We could all have names like {SLF} Valdronius.

Eh, I think it's different than Magic. With Magic you're playing it in the room, with Settlers we're just... there. Anyway, I'd like to say, /I/ started up the Settlers-mania here. I've been a big fan for years, and on Saturday Hacker was talking about 3D D&D, and I said how I played 3D D&D in a friend's basement for free when I was his age, and then swung it over to Settlers. Also, on Sunday, I played for eleven hours straight with you guys, THANK YOU. I am /always/ in the mood for Settlers, but usually all my friends would've gotten pissed and packed the game up after two or three hours at most.

I'd be up for that. It's always fun getting into online board games that don't cost a fortune to play.

Is the Xbox Live version any good?
I think it is just called "Catan".

Yeah, but we need 8-13 people who regularly play ranked matches to be considered... that doesn't even kinda fit us. We have like, thirteen players total, and most of us only play in NR-1 with other Sydlexians.

I always get my ass kicked on the ranking servers.

I'm not really interested in anything that's ranked or super competitive. Whatever happened to people just playing for fun?
