Ya~ welcome, I'm this forum's "guy who knows the Japanese language", even though mine sucks.

I'm the guy that has 2 Japanese grammar books and a Japanese dictionary in his closet... but I speak English and French.

My pronunciation sucks, but I can read and write French fairly well. At least I could when I was still studying and using it.

Oui. J'ai prendu le francais a l'ecole. Nous avons eu seulement l'espagnol et le francais, alors j'ai pense que l'francais serait mieux parce que j'habite pres de Canada. Je deteste "parler" francais avec un "laptop" parce que je seulement peux utiliser les accents avec la carte de caractere.

I hate talking in French, too. I'm learning it in school, also. It was probably a good choice to study French instead of Spanish, since you live in Canada and all.

Did anyone take French Immersion? I heard from non-school friends that they learned French with the use of some video or book or something involving "Anana" this French speaking pineapple... I've always wanted to see what that was about Sad "Unfortunately" I never saw Anana, since my first language is French. I knew how to speak, read, and write in French prior to starting school. So, if I ever mispell a word, or use the wrong tense, it's likely due to the fact that I only had 1 English class daily, and that actually only began in grade 3. From kindergarten to grade 3, we did not learn any English.

I tried Spanish about 5 years ago, in my first semester of university... I failed. It may have been due to the fact that I missed an enormous amount of class due to 2 deaths in my immediate family, but I also think I just simply sucked at it. French on the other hand, I can do. I used to be a TA (teacher's assistant) in my grade 11 and 12 French Grammar class, I was hired as a tutor and translator at my university, and did French tech support with Apple until recently (my new position doesn't require the use of French). I'm not toot-ing my own horn, I'm just really proud to be bilingual & Acadian. Hence the tattoo on my leg:

L'ananas (which is French for pineapple)! Are you speaking of Telefrancais? We watched a few episodes of that in French class and I really liked it. Especially Les Mesaventures de Monsieur Superdetective... at least, I think I have the title right.

Rycona: I think that might be it... but I never watched it, so I'd have to look it up...

Shocked

Man, my high school French is not what it used to be.

That's probably just as well though, because what it used to be was German.

Damn it. I need to watch the Addams Family because it's been too long. I recently played through the SNES game and it was pretty fun.

I've been learning spanish for many years (still taking classes), but I've really only scratched the surface. Listening to music in spanish really helps me learn and remember new words and get a grasp on pronunciation, and I find some cool new songs too. You should try that for any language you try to learn.

I tried to translate some Metallica songs into Drow, it was...interesting.
