Part of me understands this. Candyland did have a bunch of awesome characters. I mean, Jim Carey as Lord Licorice is like a no-brainer.

Of course, there's what it could be in my head, and what will actually end up on the screen. Which will no doubt be two vastly different things.

I just played this the other day...do you remember on the old Candy Land games how the last square was purple so you could get stuck at the second to last square forever? Well, they changed it to a rainbow square so you can't get stuck at the end. WTF ?

And also, I do think this concept could actually work. They have plenty of characters, a villain, an objective, why not?

Eh, that really isn't significant, it seems dumb to make a movie out of a board game but Candy Land actually has a lot more potential than most board games like trouble, sorry, shootnladders, etc.

What does that have to do with anything? Yeah its a thin premise, but so are most comic books. *shrug*. Just because its based on a board game doesn't mean it will automatically suck, or is a bad idea.

Wait to see how they screw up the potential, THEN hate on it. Smile

Dear braindead Hollywood:

Just because it worked on Clue, it doesn't mean it'll work with ANY board game.

Just something to keep on mind, m'kay?

Sincerely,
One jaded movie viewer.

That will not end well. Not only is Clue a classic, that movie was almost entirely MADE by its cast. Any attempt to recreate that kind of lightning will inevitably end in failure. I mean, who but Tin Curry could pull off Wadsworth with just that right note? Could anyone top Madeline Kahn in ANY role she's ever done> Nuh-uh.

Actually, and I'm sorry I couldn't find the clip on youtube, but they've actually remade the board game of Clue as a spy game where you're hunting down the villainous "Agent Black." Oh, and you need a cel phone to play it.

In that context, I could see it working as a movie and pissing off the people expecting a remake of the 80's movie.
