I give it a 4 out of 5. It would get a 5 if they somehow worked Katt into it.

I was hoping for the animal babble from the 1st game.
And on a side note, how sad is it that Nintendo can no longer make a decent Star Fox game?

Nintendo only made TWO Star Fox games, Star Fox and Star Fox 64. The other three were made by Rare, Namco, and Q-Games.
If Nintendo is too lazy to make a Star Fox game themselves, they ought to hand the franchise over to Retro Studios.

I completely agree with that, except I don't want it to be like Adventures, Assault, or Command since all three of those games completely sucked ass...give me the arcade shooter that everyone loves.

Adventures wasn't so bad. It wasn't really Star Fox, but it was fun. Assault and Command were both massively disappointing though, especially since they were both hyped as a return to the classic SF formula, and neither one was.

And that's what most people want! The classic format, why change something that is already good? I mean I still go back to SF64 for a quick run through, even though I've beaten it 100 times, but it's just as fun as the first time! I don't know, it wasn't only the "adventure" feel that the later games had, but also the fact they added Krystal. Fox doesn't need a love interest! He's an ace for hire! He doesn't need a girl! That's what strip joints are for! Sure it was never implied, but that's why I think they were running back to their ship during the credits, they didn't want to miss their chance to see "Bubbles".
And really, I don't understand why Nintendo has fucked over so many franchises. Look at Donkey Kong. Gone are the days of killing Kremlins and getting his banana hoard back from K. Rool. Now all they do are those fucking drumming games. And while people got excited to see DK in Punch Out, it pissed me off because deep down I knew this meant they had no real goals of using him outside of being a filler in other games.
Sorry for hijacking the topic at hand, I'm just passionate about being Nintendold

IIRC Miyamoto didn't like Rare's handling of Donkey Kong at all, so we likely won't ever see a Donkey Kong Country 4.

When asked about his opinion of what Rare did he said "American gamers will buy anything so long as it just looks pretty". That's about all I could ever find when it came to Miyamoto discussing DKC.
I don't see what there was to hate about the series, it was solid platforming.
As for Star Fox, I always wondered what Factor 5 could've done with the series if given the chance before they went belly up.

Miyamoto is a fucking idiot. I know the guy gave us Mario and Zelda, but he's also given us a bunch of other crap that was far worse than Donkey Kong Country.
DKC was my first game for the SNES and enjoyed it a helluva a lot than Super Mario World, which seemed to recycle the themes more than Donkey Kong did. I personally think he's jealous that Rare beat him to the 32 bit era.

Command was decent enough for a portable Star Fox game, hell, I enjoyed the online play like nothing else.

I hate Command with the power of 1000 exploding suns. The fact that you needed to use the stylus to barrel roll and make a turn was fucking stupid.

Assault is damn fun, but Command is shit due to the stylus control. Had they given you the option for button control, it would've been alright.

Assualt was absurdly hard to get medals on, especially with that stupid "kill combo" meter.

Personally, I'm holding out for Star Fox: Peppy's Air Traffic Controller.
