Well, it snowed today. It's about a week later than I was expecting it, but meh, as long as we get a white Halloween I'm happy. So... what's everyone's thoughts on winter? Myself, I absolutely love it for the first few months, but around month five or six I'm really fucking sick of it. I also only like the weather down to... (rushes to #sydlexia) around negative twenty-two degrees (I'm like an American! -30 C) but by the time it gets down to negative forty, I really wish it weren't winter, too.

Also, while chatting on IRC, Nekky commented that winter shouldn't be seven months, and that all the seasons should be three months, like it is in Poland. I thought See, I never knew winter wasn't this long everywhere. I'm curious as to the rest of you guys' thoughts on it.

Where the hell do you live?

In Mass., we pretty much have 4 equal seasons, though Summer seemed really short this year. Snow doesn't come until December, but we do get a lot. I personally love winter because I like it when it is cold as opposed to being hot, plus I plow so I make a shit ton of money if it snows a lot!

I live in the heart of Alberta, of course.

It's almost snow season where I live, which is close enough to Canada. The snow partially provides an excuse to sit in front of my computer all day and partially provides entertainment, like Snowmobile riding and Snowboarding.

Actually we had what, ONE snowstorm last year? All the schools lost their shit over like 4 inches and we had like 3 days added onto the school year in summer.

snow? i thought that was a myth from people up north, kind of like sasquatch

actually, Arizona does get some snow up north in Flagstaff, or east by the White Mountains. Even south of Phoenix in Mt. Lemmon down in Tucson it snows

I've lived in both extremes growing up in California where we don't really get a winter (just a chilly autumn is as low as it gets really) and now living in northern England where it's winter 8 months out of the year and there isn't really a summer. Having done both, I can say I'd much prefer to be back in California because 8 months of gray skies, rain, and snow is very, very depressing.

I live in the Philadelphia area.......we might get one or two significant snowstorms per winter.

But often enough we get little pussy snow-showers that serve no purpose other than to make driving a pain in the ass. The problem is that people around here generally aren't that "used" to snow since we don't get enough of it, so it scares the shit out of them when it comes.
