God damn you, Syd! I came into this topic with the intention of posting that!
honestly though, I like when things are taken out of their normal habitat like this. That's why I liked the Kingdom Hearts games. I'm nothing but supportive of this.

Badass. I don't have any next gen consoles so I can't be upset its Wii only. Although honestly, with this coming out, plus Endless Ocean out, PLUS Safari, PLUS lightsaber dueling in Force Unleashed...PLUS Twilight Princess, PLUS the decent price...this might be the thing that finally, finally convnces me I need a next gen console, and that that console is the Wii.
This is a really, really retarded question but I have almost no Wii experence beyond playing it at my friend's house...is it backwards compatible with any other Nintendo consoles?

sweet jesus make up your mind:

It seems like the revelation that Epic Mickey would be a Wii exclusive may have come too soon. Many have noted that while the Game Informer teaser page once claimed the game was "coming exclusively" for the Wii, all references to that exclusivity have been removed. Junction Point may be considering other options for the game, but we won't know for sure until the company gives official word.
As for what other consoles the game could come to, the PlayStation 3 seems like an apt pick. Its wand offers functionality similar to the Wii remote and it's due out before the game is set to hit. Natal is also a possibility, though it seems more based on full-body movement than pointer-like accuracy, so a game like Epic Mickey may not be ideal for it. |

Eh, I can understand the argument for putting it on an HD console, because the backgrounds might look that much cooler. But as a Nintendo fanboy who can't afford HDTV, I'd rather see it be a Wii exclusive.
I like Capcom's philosophy on Capcom vs. Tatsunoko: "We put all sorts of cool shit on the other two consoles. This game is fucking amazing and it's going to be a Wii exclusive. Fucking deal with it."
I'd like to see other publishers/devs follow suit.

The problem with it is most people have HDTV's now, you're a minority syd - the wii has no HD capability so even the best Wii game looks terrible on an HD.

This is most certainly false, I know as I have owned a Wii since launch and just recently moved up to PS3 land (and the world of HD by association).
It's true the Wii cannot handle true HD. However, the Wii can handle up to 480p (if you have component cables), which actually looks significantly sharper than 480i.
Most games look like trash on the Wii because the devs put very little time and effort into making them look nice.
I played through Mario Galaxy (with a component setup) and it looked and played phenomenally on an HDTV.

Seconded. Most Americans, and I would dare to say most American gamers, do not have HD yet. While HDTVs are pretty much the only thing you can buy these days, people aren't buying TVs in this economy. Not to mention that a TV is generally something that most people don't replace until they absolutely have to, even without an economic downturn.

I think more people are willing to replace a working TV now than before because it is a much greater upgrade. They aren't just replacing a TV with a TV, they are replacing a giant square TV for a slim, widescreen, HD capable TV with a bazillion inputs.
HDTVs are def. more affordable now, especially holiday season or a few weeks before the super bowl. I would say more gamers have HD now than don't have it, not that they all own the TV they are playing on, the majority of gamers get to play on the TV that their parents own.

unfortunately my TV, the one in my room, the one that has the PS2 and Wii and my SNES, is an old CRT TV.
the living room TV w/the Xbox 360 is the HDTV, which makes sense since thats an HD machine. i guess i got the better deal since i have the Wii, but that damn TV takes up so much room

Ok, I've skipped over this thread several times, I finally saw the same thread on another forum, and I have to say; WOW! I didn't even know something like this was in the works...but I'm stoked now.
This concept is absolutely brilliant. I have always been a HUGE fan of the original Disney creations up to Snow White. The idea of making a dark Disney game is very smart and does breathe life into the stalest of all Disney characters; Mickey Mouse. I do love how the Sony bitchboys elsewhere are complaining about this being an exclusive to Wii, hell don't you have ENOUGH exclusives already guys?
Any game that brings back Phantom Blot and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is perfectly fine in my book. I also see Horace Horsecollar...FUCK YEAH! I would REALLY be stoked if they brought back the original seventh dwarf, "Deefy" before he was sadly replaced with "Sneezy". That's probably asking too much though.

Will I just got to the party late, but I have to say... I think I may have shat bricks when I saw those pictures. Walt must be raging in his cryo containment pod right now (really hope thats in this game) or his burial plot (whicherevr story you choose to believe). Also, I will cry if this game is a hoax.
Also, adding to the HD discussion, my household has 3 HD tvs, but only one is a "living room" sized one. The others are about the same size as my computer monitor and cost about $150 (give or take). One is the host of my 360 (the wii's on the big one) and the other's in the kitchen. I do believe that maybe 40% (VERY ROUGH ESTIMATE) of the gaming market in America probably is playing on high def by now (that does not include the computer market), but that number is likely to increase at the price of HD decreases, the old TV's start to break, and as the market gets better.

I just hope it stays that way. Wii seems to be the route to go with platformers and I know their selection isn't the best considering they only have 3 desired games in the works, BUT PS3 and XBox don't appeal to me at all, I've never gotten the love for FPS outside of Doom and Wolfenstein. Halo for example always felt very generic to me and literally tried to sit down and play it for a few hours and just bored me to death. Hell, even a staple of greatness is the Metal Gear Solid series, love the series, but the 4th game just didn't appeal to me at all, I don't know...same goes for GTA and I know they aren't FPS but their exclusives to PS3 and XBox and routinely put SO much elaborate crap in the game that it takes 2 hours to START the damn game.
That's why I've stuck with Wii, I can pick up Galaxy and just play it. Besides, as I said before the PS3 and XBox library are littered with games that are favored by those who enjoy playing those systems, give Wii a break for a change since the only game coming out I was even interested in up till this point was Mario Galaxy 2.
And on a side note...Nintendo...get off your lazy fucking asses and put some effort into your home console...stop putting the damn DS first! You have SO many great franchises, yet you're not doing anything with.

Or Deafy, I can't remember precisely how it was spelled, but there is a large concept art book for Disney that I had that was made in the 70's-80's and while the Dwarves looked remarkably different, I noticed that Sneezy was replaced with Deefy, who had his hand up to his ear, so I guess they decided to change it. There was also pictures of Goofy with no ears and had the name "Dippy Dawg".
