Where's my set review??!?!?

In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face. For some, shyness might be their El Guapo. For others, a lack of education might be their El Guapo. For us, El Guapo is a big, dangerous man who wants to kill us. But as sure as my name is Lucky Day, the people of Santa Poco can conquer their own personal El Guapo, who also happens to be *the actual* El Guapo! |

I was working on the review, then I got suspended/banned from MTGS, so I stopped writing it. I know, a lot of people are really disappointed.

Who are you now, hacker? And yeah, I haven't updated in a while. I have a bunch of stuff to write, but I've been too busy to write any of it and when I do have time I'm doing other things.

I would like to reiterate one this more time, because it bears repeating. So Magic players everywhere, take notice:
NOT EVERY FUCKING TOURNAMENT IS A FUCKING PTQ.
When you're at a small, sanctioned tournament at a local comic book shop and you fucking sit there and watch your opponent pile shuffle and present his deck, there is only one acceptable response: YOU FUCKING CUT THE DECK AND SEND IT BACK.
Any other reponse to pile/present is INCREDIBLY fucking rude. What, the pile shuffle isn't random enough for you? You think I'm fucking cheating? FUCK YOU. When I present my deck, I always wait to see what my opponent does before I take his deck. If he decides to be a fucking douchebag and shuffle it, I will take his deck and pile shuffle it as slowly as I can get away with.
This rant goes DOUBLE for retards who show up at a store they've never drafted at before and shuffle one of the store's regular customer's decks after a pile/present. This is supposed to be a friendly community. If you can't play nice, go choke on a dick.

I have no idea who this kid is Syd, never even heard of him before you texted me about this before but he certainly got you angried up.
On a related note, my roommates and I split a box of Zendikar three ways today and I got all the mythics in it. I was laughing because we deliberately shuffled the packs up and then dealt them out one by one in an attempt to be fair and I was the only one who got anything half decent. Other than the foil Ghul Draz Spectre one of them opened.

Meh, I like the idea of Chandra, but really, it seems like you need to build a deck around her. And maybe I'm still too much of a noob, but building a deck based entirely around a planeswalker card seems like a bad idea.

I still don't like his second ability.

While this is correct, there's already a deck in extended that she fits into perfectly. The point of the deck is to play a bunch of rituals and Simian Spirit guide and stuff to get a 5 or 6 mana creature into play, and hopefully win with that (It's called All In Red). Chandra slides right into the deck perfectly because if you can get her turn 1 with all your mana rituals, you use her second ability and give your opponent a starting hand size of 3 while refilling your hand.

It irritates the hell out of me that there's no official announcement of the "priceless treasures" from Wizards yet.

There was an official announcement on the judge listserv that they exist and regarding how to go over them Any official announcement on the main page detracts from the coolness of opening them in the eyes of a lot of people I'm sure, even though it'd be nice to have hards numbers on quantities/rarity as well as on if it's just the first print run or not.

I was wondering about how those would work in draft; if by some strange chance I opened a Lotus in draft, could I use it?

No. In limited you can only use cards from the draft/sealed packs that have the expansion symbol(s) of the set or blocks that you are supposed to be playing with.
The rules were changed to say this right before the Zendikar preleases started, leading to speculation as to why they would feel the need to say that.

Even though you may pull a Mox out of a Zendikar pack, it is not part of the ZEN block, and is therefore not tourny legal.

Okay correction:
Treasure cards are legal only in Casual, Vintage, and Legacy
Not legal in Limited. (Which would cover Sealed & Draft.)

Would you care to elaborate on exactly what this is, and why its so insulting, for us non-Magic players? Just curious.

Basically he's overreacting because he takes personal offense to the idea that someone would feel the need to shuffle his deck instead of just cutting it (Which is allowed in the rules). I admit I get annoyed when people shuffle my deck sometimes, but normally only because it takes a lot longer. Of course, I also shuffle my opponent's deck sometimes as well.

Actually, if you were drafting Unlimited/Ice Age/Zendikar or something wacky like that and pulled an unlimited Mox, you could use it. If I understand the rule correctly.

It's apparently something that just pisses him off. I have no problem with it.

I understand the reason you sleeve your cards, but I hate shuffling sleeved cards. Am I alone in this?
I'm sure there are people out there who would shit themselves watching me shuffle my decks.
I cut the deck. Riffle them together, and then bridge them back to a single neat pile. Repeat about 5 or 6 times. I am quick, and yes the cards do curve when I do this.
I buy cards to play with, not to look at. I don't give a shit if I have a $60 foil rare in my deck. If it is a card I need, it goes in and is treated like any other card. I give it as much special attention as I do to my land cards.
