I hate how some new stories on Yahoo video are streaming video only. Call me crazy, I would rather READ THE STORY MYSELF than suffer through a 20 second commercial followed by 4 minute video. When I want to watch the news, I'll turn on the fucking TV.
Comcast too, but to its credit, when Christian Slater was arrested mere text would not have done the story justice. Nor would I still be saying his defense:

There are definitely some stories where a supplemental video is definitely nice. But when the story is a total fluff piece "Many Americans are addicted to cellphones", there's no reason it should be a video-only story.

What if Amanda Congdon were hosting it (not that I even knew who she was two weeks ago)?

For the streaming news videos they just need to get those Russian Newswomen that strip while reading the news. Then I would watch every streaming newsfeed on the planet.

Something about reading increases the amount of information you process. That is, when you read a story your brain is actively engaged. There are no excessive cuts, no distracting body language or visual manipulations. Just the text, which you may read at your leasure and verify as necessary.
