Aaron Sorkin to write Facebook film

I propose a MySpace movie. Something about a child predator who uses the site to stalk underage girls suffering from epilepsy and lures them into visiting profile pages with rapidly blinking text and flashing animations to induces seizures that leave his victims helpless. A cautionary tale about the everyday dangers that await children online. Starring Steve Buscemi as a tech-savvy pedophile, Dakota Fanning as a rape victim and Denzel Washington as an FBI investigator who puts his marriage on the line in order to catch the predator. Music by Soulja Boy.

The Foot Clan is Returning for the New Live-Action TMNT!

A post on GoGreenMachine.org includes details about an open casting call in Hollywood for martial arts experts to audition for "the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, hitting theatres in 2011. We will select the best from the auditions to be a part of the stealth TMNT nemesis, the Foot Clan." Wait, what, the notorious Foot Clan is coming back for that upcoming live-action movie!? As a big TMNT geek, this is just plain awesome to hear! Too bad I'm not a martial arts expert.

The casting call is asking for anyone 14 years or older (they're going young) to prepare a 30-second martial arts demo. "Judges to include actor and martial arts expert Ernie Reyes, Jr (aka Keno from TMNT II), Jason Morgan from the American Taekwondo Association, and 2011 TMNT movie producers Scott Mednick and Galen Walker." This sounds like that scene from The Secret of the Ooze where Keno goes in and tries out for the Foot Clan. But it's real life! As we all know, The Mirage Group confirmed in April that a new live-action (not hybrid) TMNT movie is in development for 2011. Glad to see the Foot are back!

But who is directing?

There is a good chance that this could be awful.

However, since it may be full live action and not a hybrid I am praying to every god I know that it is spectacular.

Interesting. I was just wondering recently if they were ever going to make a sequel to that CGI movie a few years ago. I guess they decided to go to live actors instead.

Tarantino Promises Kill Bill Vol. 3

Now that Inglourious Basterds is out of the way and headed for almost inevitable Oscar nominations, Quentin Tarantino is planning his next move. What is it? Kill Bill Vol. 3.

Bad Taste caught Tarantino on Italian television where he went out of his way to lure the interviewer into asking him about the possibility of a third Kill Bill and then announced that yes, it’s happening and “The Bride will fight again.”

Of course Tarantino projects never happen quickly and sometimes the stuff he talks about never happens at all. But he seems fairly adamant about getting Kill Bill Vol. 3 done, even if it takes time. He says, “Kill Bill 3 will probably come out, I gotta wait a couple of years, but I want ten years to pass from the second one to the third one.”

So why ten years? Tarantino explains, “Two reasons. One, I think me and Uma needed a ten year break…. And the second one, I loved the character a lot. I think she deserved ten years to relax. She deserved ten years of no fighting, she deserved ten years with her child Bebe, just of peace. I put her through a lot those first two movies, I want her to have a nice, peaceful life for ten years. I want her to set up her store, and have some peace. But after ten years we’ll make her fight again.”

The original Kill Bill Vol. 1 was released in 2003. That could mean Kill Bill Vol. 3 in 2013 except, even though he mentions needing a break from Uma, QT says he only has to wait a couple of years and the ten years he discussed seemed to be related more to the timeline taking place inside the film than the one taking place out here. Kill Bill Vol. 3 could show up at any time.

not sure how i feel about this.

This is nothing new. He already hinted at something like this in an Entertainment Weekly story back when Kill Bill originally came out. He specifically mentioned Vernita Green's daughter, who saw The Bride kill her mother in Vol. 1, as the center of the sequel:
Quentin Tarantino wrote:
It would be Nikki going out to get revenge on the Bride. Uma wouldn't be the star, she'd kind of be the bad guy, because the little girl kind of deserves her revenge.

Of course, he also said there would be an anime prequel detailing the early life of Bill, which never happened.

no no & no. i hope this idea doesnt come to fruition:
Quote:
Marlon Wayans in talks to play Richard Pryor

Marlon Wayans is in advanced discussions to play one of comedy’s most iconic figures in the biopic Richard Pryor: Is it Something I Said for Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Prods. and Sony Pictures. The project has been written and will be directed by Bill Condon (Dreamgirls). Eddie Murphy was originally attached to star in the project, but he dropped out over conflicts with Paramount Pictures, which was previously on board to finance the film.

While Wayans is primarily known for his comedic roles in Wayans Bros.’ movies such as Dance Flick and White Chicks, he received critical acclaim for his dramatic turn in 1999’s Requiem for a Dream. Sources tell EW.com that Wayans fought for the role, blowing the producers away with a 13- min screen test where he “transforms into Pryor.” The movie depicts Pryor’s controversial brand of comedy and his battle with drugs and is currently budgeted at $20 million. Chris Rock, Pryor’s widow Jennifer Lee Pryor and Mark Gordon are also lined up to produce. Producers are still working out the terms of Wayans’ deal, and other major aspects of the overall project have not been finalized. Sony did not respond to requests for comment.

They both lacked talent, so what's the point? Just another Blaxploitation that all the white liberals fall head over heels for while they make stale race joke after retarded race joke. I'd rather they pick that liberal loon Chris "CROCK" to play a guy who got famous for making "dookie" jokes. God the entertainment field in America needs a HUGE makeover.

I hope they make it and it fails miserably. And I hope it ruins that whole family’s career.

Yeah. And last I checked, the stereotype of liberals is that they're so PC they HATE that kind of movie, and protest the hell out of them at the slightest provocation. Rolling Eyes

Bruce Willis Cast in Kane & Lynch

A big-screen adaptation of Kane & Lynch is on its way, and the first major casting has been announced. GameDaily interviewed Hollywood producer Adrian Askarieh, who said that Bruce Willis has been cast as the titular character Kane. He also says casting for Lynch will start shortly, and Lionsgate will be the distributor. "After Bruce Willis read [the script], he called it one of the best action scripts he's ever read," said Askarieh, "and Bruce is an expert in terms of action scripts because he's read everything over the last 20 years." Simon Crane is set to direct, after being the second unit director on movies like Tomb Raider and Troy.

While the movie won't be a direct translation of the original game, it's said to share the premise and some action sequences. "It's essentially the story of a mercenary teaming up with a schizophrenic psychopath to save his wife and daughter." He also says that filming is likely to take place in spots like South America and Europe, but nothing is set in stone quite yet. Here's hoping that with big-name casting, Kane & Lynch will be one of the rare exceptions to the rule of game franchise movie quality.

I'm interested in that Bushnell biopic, if done right.

And I like DiCaprio...but not sure if that's good casting...I mean I didn't like him as Howard Hughes or the guy in Gangs From New York

i've never seen the show myself, but i understand the concept indicates bauer has 24 hours to stop some sort of terrorist plot. so the entirety of a season will take place in 24 episodes or 24 hours, right? correct me if im wrong.

at any rate, wouldnt a 2 hour movie kind of ruin the whole purpose of this? would it be could 2? or 90 minutes? or 2 & 1/2 hours?

Jamie Foxx Cast in Big Screen Kane & Lynch
The Kane and Lynch movie has had its Kane for quite a while in Bruce Willis, and now it's found its Lynch. Screenwriter Kyle Ward tweeted last night that Jamie Foxx is in as the psychologically unbalanced mercenary James Lynch. He had to clarify that he wasn't referencing the movie based on Uncharted that he's also writing, after one user jokingly asked about "a black Nate Drake." We previously reported that producer Adrian Askarieh was impressed by Bruce Willis' enthusiasm for the script. "He called it one of the best action scripts he's read," said Askarieh, "and Bruce is an expert in terms of action scripts because he's read everything over the last 20 years." Now Foxx, who is relatively new to action movies as compared to Willis, will be playing alongside him.
While Kane appears like he won a Bruce Willis look-alike contest, Foxx's resemblance to Lynch (above) isn't quite so uncanny. Very early rumors had Billy Bob Thornton pegged for the role, but Foxx it is. We'll keep you updated on the movie as we hear more about casting details and release information.

Popeye's Back...This Time in 3D

The last time Popeye hit the big screen, it was back in 1980 with Robin Williams as the iconic sailor man and Robert Altman behind the camera. That ended up a flop, albeit one that went on to become something of a cult, but now Sony hopes to do a little better with a CG ‘toon version of the character.

Unlike The Smurfs, which Sony is also dragging into cinemas, the new Popeye will likely be an all-CG affair, since Sony Pictures Animation is handling the film.

Producer Avi Arad is one of the driving forces behind the film, having been offered the chance to shepherd it by former Marvel man Scot Sassa, who now just happens to work for the company that controls the rights to the spinach-loving hero. "Scott called me and said, 'I have something for you,'" Arad tells Variety. "I literally started singing the famous Popeye song after securing the rights. What always blew me away is the level of the animation. It was so beautiful and unbelievably detailed."

The studio is refusing to release what the plot might be, though it’s reasonable to expect the likes of Popeye’s gangly lady love Olive Oyl, rival Bluto and adopted moppet Swee’Pea will all be part of the story.

Mike Jones, who is negotiating to adapt the script, is clearly a bit of a Popeye-dol worshipper. "I'm an unabashed, lifelong Popeye fan," he says. "Introducing this squinty-eyed sailor to a new generation also means reintroducing him to those who, like me, grew up with him."

Spinach manufacturers, your race to secure that all-important tie-in starts here…

Hugh Jackman Will Soon Have Testicles Under His Chin

Yeah, you read that right.

Hugh Jackman will be taking on his most challenging role yet, playing a man with genitalia attached to his face in a very risque comedy opposite Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet.

Jackman and Winslet film just one segment of the film, which has been created by Peter Farrelly of There's Something About Mary fame. There are 17 shorts making up the project.

Jackman plays a man whose testicles are located under his chin and Winslet plays a woman who goes out on a date with his character. Other stars taking part in the film project are Gerard Butler, Naomi Watts, Justin Long and Sam Rockwell.
