2009 has been a great year for gaming, in my opinion, but there are some games that have much to be desired.
Wolfenstein in particular comes to mind. I went through the game on "I Am Death Incarnate" and had only one trouble spot. There is little challenge in the game, at all. I went through it a second time on easy and beat it in a good 2-3 hours. Another game would be the Turtles in Time remake.

Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust is the worst of the year so far (not that I expected much, but it was damn near unplayable).

I think the most disappointing game for me in recent memory was Spiderman 3. Now, we all know the movie blew chunks, but, I dunno...I had high hopes for this game. Spiderman 2 was spectacular, and all I really wanted from this game was more of the same, with updated graphics and no fucking balloon-losing children.
Instead I got even more retarded (albiet less earbleedingly annoying) missions, with barely improved graphics, a horrifying framerate, and NO MOTHERFUCKING SPRINT BUTTON, which was a STAPLE of SM2, and whose absence (imho) comes close to breaking the control scheme for 3. Ugh. I only paid ten bucks for it, and that was fifteen dollars too much.

Explain please.
My pick: Neverwinter Nights 2. (Just do a forum search for the name and my name, and you'll see how many times I have ripped this game a new one.)

Infinite Undiscovery, I was expecting a much better RPG then I got, I wanted something with fake MMORPG qualities, yet what I ended up getting was a sub par Star Ocean meets FFXII

You ever read TwentySided? Shamus has a very, very sad tale of woe about how great the first part of the game was...and how it all fell to shit in the last bits, especially the ending.

Blood II
Nowhere near as fun as the first one, and enough bugs to completely fuck up the experience.
Quake II
I might get hell for this but I don't care, Quake II was completely lame. To this day I STILL play Quake I, as it just seems to be more fun.
SimCity 2000
This game is hailed as a triumph, but the SNES version of regular old SimCity still blows SimCity 2000 out of the water.
Ultima IX : Ascension
I can't explain in words how bad this game ruined my hopes and dreams. Every Ultima game up till VII were incredible PC gaming experiences. But Ultima VIII tried to go all arcade style with it's awful combat and lack of party system, and so did this piece of trash. The game was such a disappointment that it pretty much killed Origin Studios. Richard Garriot, the creator of the Ultima series left the company and EA shut Origin down shortly afterward.

Simply put, Everyone say it's an "Awesome game" It felt Contrived, cliched and overall a dissapointment (much like when people told me that 300 was a cinematic Masterpiece).
The story of the game made me think of GRAW2 and that I've heard the story before.
Not only that, but I found Multiplayer to be easier then some of those free FPS's people can get online. I just went around with a pistol, and had the longest kill streak in the entire match.
Another thing about the Multiplayer is the goddamned Perks. I would kill a guy with five shots to the torso, he would be in Last Stand mode, and kill me then some douchebag would come up and take my kill. I FUCKING SHOT HIM FIVE TIMES AND I GET NO POINTS?
Then we get to the technical stuff... I've seen a better physics engine in Counter-Strike source or even the Unreal Engine.
The only redeeming part... Henry-Gregson Williams as the music director.

Golden Axe: Beast Rider was disappointing just for me personally. Everyone did tell me it was shit, but I am such a fan of all things Golden Axe that I let my excitement cloud the reviews. Bad idea.

SEGA in general has been pretty crap, lately. Excluding Sonic Unleashed. That was pretty decent.

True, every single-player iteration of Quake after the first was just freakin awful. The problem wasn't that they were bad or unplayable, just incredibly boring and cliched. Here's a great LP of Quake 2 that's currently still being updated:

For me, Halo 2 is way up on my list. Halo 1 caught me off guard. It was pretty bland, but showed a lot of promise for console shooters. After what was probably the biggest cocktease of a gameplay trailer, we found out instead of huge, pitched battles on Earth cities, we'd just be playing what were almost the same exact levels as in the first game.

Halo 3 ODST really improved the enviroments, especially since there was no mention of Halos or Master Chief. That and it had Nathan Fillion and Adam Baldwin.

Leisure Suit Larry,King's Quest and Space Quest were all PC games that were geared towards the typical PC audience of the late 80's and early 90's but dont work today. That format died with the advent of games like Half-Life and other FPS that changed the face of PC gaming.

There's about a million things wrong with that statement, but I'm headed off to work so I can't currently address them. But I will.
