So, who's looking forward to this?personally I think it looks very promising. Also I am glad to see ozzy being incorporated into it.
This might be some of gamestops BS but they said if you want jack black as the voice for the protagonist then you have to preorder it. Anybody know anything about that

You just get a tenacious D guitar.
Otherwise yeah, I'm so excited about this that its going to be the first game I get for the PS3, which will be bought with the game.

I played the Xbox 360 demo last night and it was pretty good. The writing is excellent and the game is really funny.

Definitely gonna get this.
I wish the game's art direction wasn't so damn cartoony though. They should have gone with an art style more reminiscent of the most epic heavy metal album covers.
Has anybody ever preordered a game from Gamestop before that has bonus content for doing so? How does it work? I just ordered it for the XBox 360 and I got the code for the early demo, but not for the Tenacious D guitar. I would assume that there is a code to redeem for that as well. I was just wondering how that is typically done. Do they send out another email with the code on the release date, or is it sent with the order itself? I have never used Gamestop before, so I don't know how they work.
I love the art style. It's a lot more expressive in its animation and appearance than your average Wii cartoon or Xbox brown-and-gray-game.
First game I've been actively excited for since Jet Grind Radio.
So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

I have never pre-ordered a game that came with a code, but I have preordered games that came with bonuses for preordering, such as extra content. I would imagine that the code comes packed with the game when it ships.
Thanks for the response. I was just looking around to see how the Juggernaut code was distributed for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and it looks like it was a fiasco. I am seeing numerous pages filled with people complaining they didn't receive the code or instructions what to do. I am hoping that isn't the case here.
As a side rant, I really hate having bonus in-game content being a perk to preordering. There were a few preorders I missed over the years that came with cool bonuses, but I could just go to eBay and pay a little more to get them if I really wanted them. One example that comes to mind is the 8-bit Simon Belmont figure that came with Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles. That isn't an option for the in game content that is unlocked using unique codes. Once you miss it it's gone for good. I know it drums up sales for companies, and I understand why it is done. It is still annoying to me though. If that sort of thing is done I would rather the perks be exclusive to one company without the time restraints for extra game content.

I agree. Maybe make it free for preordering, but offer it as buyable DLC somewhere down the line. Maybe not right away, but after a few months.
I don't play Pokemon games, because there's too much stupid shit involving them. Like, go to a specific event, and they'll unlock some legendary Pokemon you can't get otherwise, or give you a special version of some Pokemon. Fuck that shit. If I can't complete my Pokedex, then I'm not interested in playing.

Gamestop does this one of two ways: if you pre-order after the announcement of a perk, then they'll usually give you the card right on the spot, and if you pre-order before the perk is announced, then they'll send you an e-mail of the code. In the case of the guitar in this game, they'll either be mailed to you (if you pre-ordered online), or you'll receive a code upon picking it up. Scroll down this page until you see the "BONUS" tag and instructions next to it:
I have played through the demo and I give it my seal of approval. Tim Schafer + Metal = Awesome, however Tim Schafer + Metal * Jack Black = I just orgasmed thinking about it.

And yes..she is hot. However solving a Rubik's cube is much more METAL!

First, I watched a hillarious scene involving a new-age rap-metal band, then a scene where a snarling, chrome hellbeast decapitated the band. I then ripped apart cultists with an axe and magical guitar while my favorite Sabbath song played. I then destroyed an entire temple with my guitar, fought a battle nun, and rode her giant spider off of a corpse mountain. I then met another character and used her as a flying blender, before making a bitching hot-rod that I used to escape and plow over dozens of monsters while my third-favorite Motorhead song played in a background. I then defeated a giant worm by cutting off its tongue with my magically-summoned hot rod, then cut its head off with a giant gate, meanhwile laughing my ass off at funny, well-acted dialogue.
I then looked at the clock below my TV.
Twelve minutes. The FIRST twelve minutes.

So when I preordered TMNT: Smash Up from Amazon, apparently there was a preorder deal I didn't know about. Preordering the game would get you a code to unlock the Technodrome stage and the Ninja Turtle Rabbid. So I got the code e-mailed to me yesterday. Turns out it's a button code that anyone can use. The code was e-mailed out at 4 AM EST yesterday morning, and it was already on GameFAQs when I woke up. Now, I don't really care because I didn't know about it. But if I had been led to believe that preordering from Amazon was the only way to get those things, I might be pissed.

I've damn near completed the game today. It's really tough to stop playing once you've started.

I can really only assume that there was a licensing problem.
And as much of a critic of metal as I am, I am really digging the soundtrack. That "Song of the Banshee" track has been in my head constantly thanks to that spider level.

From what I hear, Maiden are not big fans of handing over licenses to games. I wish they would have done Maiden GH instead of Metallica. I believe the only two songs that Maiden ever gave to games was Number of the Beast in GH3 and 2 Minutes 2 Midnight for GTA:VC, though I thought I heard that some GH or Rockband game also has 2M2M.
