Users of the Google Toolbar can now access the Sidewiki.

From the Sidewiki a person can pretty much write whatever they want about whole web page or just one part of it.

Yea, it really is stupid. That's exactly what I want; strange people's opinions about every single website that I view. It's like someone looking over your shoulder while you're browsing, talking into your ear.

i agree. its already annoying when people tell you what to do while you're trying to play your videogame, now my webpage will be even more cropped because someone is on their high horse and has to tell me their opinion?! fuck that

I just noticed that on forums the URL must be exactly correct or it won't work.

For example:
Will Work:
http://www.sydlexia.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=185121#185121

Will Not Work:
http://www.sydlexia.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=185121
http://www.sydlexia.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10562

These all link to the same content, but the SideWiki only links to the exact URL.

The webmaster has absolutely no control over their comments either. They have to send a Request to Google to get things removed.

To see the implications of this, and assuming Google hasn't blocked their own sites from it, go to Google.com and use the Wiki to say their search engine sucks and to go use Bing.

Now, imagine spammers doing it on a massive scale.

Google are morons.

Just like virus writers don't target OS X or Linux because the Mac/*nix user population isn't worth it, until the SideWiki grows up, it won't really be a target.
