A part of my head says that this actually makes sense. It makes as least as much sense as tapping my phone and prying into my library records does; I mean at least this has some sort of at least ostensible practical application.
Then there's the rest of my head. And the rest of my head says this:

I think if enough people try we could topple our new, almost communist leader.

My word...authorizing the guy who we put in charge to take care of emergencies to actually take care of an emergency? What the hell is this country coming to?
It also irritates me how somehow "introducing a bill" all of a sudden becomes a new and inevitable law. Hundreds of bills are introduced every session, and some are pretty nuts. Any evidence this one actually went anywhere?
So they are legally setting up what they are already doing illegally.

I think this comment on that page sums it up nicely:
"Where above does it ever say that Obama presented this?
Seriously, I just love you simple minded backwater rejects. 'Deerrr if'n it comes from gubbamint den it has to beah dat Obama..'
Really, get the tin foil off your head and stop speed reading the news to form your opinion of everything.
Learn to look into the details before you scream murder and by the way - keep the internet safe and free. Otherwise I wouldn't get the pure pleasure of making the point I have."
As Usa said, thousands of bills are introduced by nutty congresspeople every year and a vast majority never even make it to the President's desk. In fact, I'm currently working on my next article for Cracked about bafflingly retarded bills that our government wastes time on every single day.
Also, Obama isn't behind the bill at all, and just because it benefits his office doesn't mean he is automatically for it, so that's a pretty retarded assumption. And anyone who calls him a communist clearly doesn't know what communism is.

Just because I included the word 'Obama' in the topic title doesn't mean I was explicitly saying Obama is putting foreword this bill. It's simply Obama's presidency right now, maybe I should have used the word 'congress' but I'm sure you'd still be jumping all over everyone's shit for being 'backwater rejects'
Also, in that article the whole bill is available for public reading, I simply didn't link it because I figured people would read the article to put things a little more in perspective.
Also, fuck you, we don't put on tinfoil hats to keep the commies out, we put them on to keep the aliens from reading our thoughts.

How many things did people attribute to Bush that had nothing to do with him, but simply happened during his presidency? It's awesome when you do it to someone you hate, but somehow it's incredibly unjust and ignorant when it happens to someone you like.

Just like when Bush supporters called liberals treasonous for not supporting Bush. Now it's perfectly fine to hate the president when it's one you disagree with.
I didn't vote for or really support Obama so don't give me shit about it, but that's a fucked up double standard.

Hardly, I never called anyone treasonous. All that does is show that the double standard exists on both sides, which is making my point (I didn't choose any particular side in my original comment)

Doesn't make it right.
It's part of what's wrong in American politics today. People are so hellbent on making the other side lose, nobody can get anything done.

Treasonous has been replaced with "Racist", I was perplexed when I was vehemently accused of such fucktardery, I didn't think people were seriously pulling that shit, all because my non support of the healthcare bill. My point being, moonbats come in all flavors, and that it's bullshit when both sides do it. Weird world we're living in.

if you say you don't like Obama these days you get pelted with so many questions that it's easier to just say it's because you're racist
i said i didn't like him when the subject got brought up at a friends place and some guy i knew was like 'Why are you so racist? why do you hate Americas recovery?"

The term "racist" gets thrown around way too often these days, it's almost as bad as "homophobe".

Accusing someone of treason for supporting their country and criticizing idiotic leader(s) is far more treasonous than the act being criticized.

So the point is both sides are capable of asshatery, and depending on your political affiliation you may think that one side is more capable than the other.

Congratulations everyone. You've all realized that politics is a big, fat pile of nothing and no matter who is in charge, nothing ever changes, and we continue to coast along the currents of life.

The problem is everyone thinks that ONLY the other side does it. They don't see how yelling "treason" and "racist" are the same thing, and they have no intention of listening to the other side. Sure, they may let the other side talk so they can feign tolerance, but they have no interest in what is being said; their only goal is to call the other said names and say that they're all ignorant for thinking what they do without addressing anything the other party had to say.
