Sometimes I find something out and become frustrated because there is no human vocabulary that is sensational enough to express how awesome it is. Actually, that sometimes is once and what nothing can describe the awesomeness of is everyone’s favorite man from La Mancha, Don Quixote, getting the full on Wuxia treatment. In 3-D.

First of all, I’m a Quixote nut. I rifled through dozens of translations of the dense Cervantes text looking for the best narrative. It has always struck me, no joke, how much the storyline is similar to classic Wuxia with a brain addled man who thinks he is a master trudging the Chinese countryside in search of those that wronged his school. I just can’t get over the awesomeness of this concept.

The movie looks to be going the straight comedy route as comedic actors are rumored to be attached to star. It’s not going to happen, but I would have loved to see Stephen Chow take on the project. Xiong Xin Xin is the director and I don’t know a lot about his directing chops, but I do know he was in the excellent “Once Upon a Time in China 2” and “Dragon Inn,” so as far as I’m concerned he has legit cred.

Development starts this month and these films usually fly through production. I’m really looking forward to this!

Oh what a brilliant, brilliant idea. The character fits the genre really, really well. This is something to seriously look forward to.
