I like watching weird Japanese movies, sometimes its garbage(tokyo zombie comes to mind) and sometimes they are surreal glory or pure cheese classic (machine girl). I rented Big Man Japan and watched it with a friend, and as it turns out its a pretty effective comedy.
Basically, its about a guy who can grow to a great size when he's electrocuted, the fifth in his family and the defender of Japan from evil monsters. Unfortunately, people don't really like him and he is plagued by issues of reality and the difficulties that come with that sort of thing. Its filmed like a documentary, and its obviously a comedy. Particularly funny is the the 4th big man, an old man with dementia, growing large and acting about like what you would expect a giant man with dementia to act.
Point is, its funny and bizarre, and you should consider watching it.
