I've seen plenty of Sonic fancharacters that aren't simply Sonic/Tails/Knuckles/Shadow with new colors slapped on. If you can handle the potentially mind-raping FurAffinity, you'll get what I'm talking about. Also, my namesake started as a lighter blue Sonic with powers of water, but I'm considering some redesigns and a more solid backstory and personality.

And just to ask, I have never heard of Reader Rabbit, has anyone else heard of him?
He's pretty much the big name character in the world of children's edutainment games. He's the mascot for tons of Learn to Read, Spelling, and Math programs for toddler through 6th graders.
Also, this list is FAIL, due to the three of the greatest rabbit's of all time who were in games, to be missing from it:
