Wow, Syd, when you call something a crime against humanity, you mean it.

Yep lol. I just watched this at TGWTG myself. Laughed all of the way through it. I will say that as funny as the computer voice was (and they used it brilliantly), I really, really did miss Doug's voice and inflections. Still, quite epic.

Stretching the definition of nostalgia classic, still a very funny review. Particularly the wandering b-characters getting shot.

This is true. Its more like an anti-classic. But it is one that I think (most of us) saw and remember quite well--unless that's just me. Still, I have no problem with seeing people break out of the mold they've set for themselves once in a while, particularly when its this successful.

I saw a reference to America in that stub, but no North American release date. Lucky us?

Thankfully I've never seen the movie but I knew what movie they were ripping off at the end before they even said anything based solely how blatant it was.

I still think Boll is better than modern day Michael Bay because you can at least watch a Boll movie and enjoy it for the "so bad it is good" aspect. Bay's older work is enjoyable to a degree but his new stuff is beyond trash. Newer Michael Bay movies give trash a bad name. I don't even think Oscar The Grouch would be found dead in a trash can full of Transformers 2 DVDs.

In the end Boll still sucks but he has yet to rape my childhood and then eat it and regurgitate it so it has so resemblance to what it was and then eat his own vomit and shit it out again.

I think the government took legal action to prevent Uwe Boll from putting any more movies out in America. If not they should. I feel sorry for Danny Trejo to be in that shitastic sequel. When you fuck up House of the Dead by making it like a Slasher flick, you know you're bad...

I actually wouldn't mind taking Uwe Boll in a boxing match. I mean we had over 1 million signatures online to get him to stop making movies and then when it's done, he said "Fuck you" and continued on to make Postal (shudder). His dickish attitude is what pisses me off along with the tax loop holes...

What we really need is for every person who signed the petition to march right at Uwe Boll's house and lynch the everliving crap out of him.

He may box, but even him won't be able to take on an angry mob.

honestly I'll say it. I dig the guy.

it's liek he set out and said "this is what I am going to do, wether people like it or not."

it's not like he;s some moron who doesn't know about the games he's making movies on. it's like he said "I know all about such and such game, but I like my idea better". he doesnt care if people ahte him or if he destroys his source material, as long as he's making a movie that he wants to see. it's so dickish that I actually have to support it.

After watching the review i seriously want to rent the movie and listen to Boll's commentary, I've heard it's better then the movie itself.

And after reading the Alone in the Dark 2 wiki page, i am to assume that it has nothing to do with the first Boll movie.

He may be like one of those nutcases out west that has a huge armory of guns ammo and grenades. But in anycase, if we do march on his house I want the first punch on that loophole son of a bitch.

That's actually something i never understood and i hope someone can clarify. The loop hole, how the hell does Germany allow such a thing to exist when the result is asshats like Uwe Boll. I mean 'if the movie tanks, it still makes money' makes no sense to me.

Quote:
Until the law was changed in 2005, Boll was able to acquire funding thanks to German tax laws that reward investments in film. The law allowed investors in German-owned films to write off 100% of their investment as a tax deduction; it also allowed them to invest borrowed money and write off any fees associated with the loan. The investor was then only required to pay taxes on the profits made by the movie; if the movie loses money, the investor got a tax writeoff.

and yes just like the producers

Sis... You are part psychic I know it Razz But in anycase, the reasoning behind Germany even having that loop hole is because while people think of France as having the Most Film Buffs, Germany finds thier cinema to try to be the best in the world. It's thier "art" which some could be comparable to the works in the Louvre and some could be compared to the works in my Louvre (AKA. My toilet). Much of the early German films are some of the more influential in the country, such as Eisensteins epic "The Battleship Potemkin" and "M" by Fritz Lang which heavily influenced the film industries techniques. As a result of being Monumental works of sheer brilliance, Germany started this loophole to assist in getting Film makers to start making more and more.
As a result Uwe Boll kind of correctly abused this loophole and that's how he could fuck over the viewers...
Just for a reference of what kind of Work "M" was

So it's like if Scrooge MacDuck wanted to get a tax break, so he moves to Germany and hires ed wood and has him film a movie even uwe boll would find shit. I'm glad the law got changed too, it's interesting that the most famous Boll movies were released before the 2005.
