Well here comes my PS3 slim from Amazon in a few days, and so far I have had a hard time figuring out which games to pick up. I haven't played anything from this gen of consoles for over a year and a half, so I'm a little behind. I don't do FPS, those games are like simulating my real life job, and I don't want to work from home. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it, as this is the list so far.
1.) Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (Bought)
2.) Soul Calibur 4 (Bought)
3.) Little Big Planet (Bought)
4.) Street Fighter 4 (Now Scanning Craigslist...)
5.) ?
Any other must owns?

Skip to end to find major games to pick up
If you're into RPG's I'd definately pick up Folklore, and I guess if you're a fan of Final Fantasy maybe the new FF when it comes out in America. Heavenly Sword is pretty awesome, it's like a God of War clone except you fight hundreds of enemies at once sometimes, and you're a chick. Like IceWarm said, MGS4 is a must for PS3. The Skate series is pretty good although it isn't PS3 exclusive. Burnout Paradise is a pretty awesome Multiplatform game and the full game can be bought off the PSN. Ninja Gaiden Sigma might be good if you want a rehash of a game. PixelJunk Monsters I've heard is great, it's a tower defense game in vein of such games as Desktop Tower defence. Everyday Shooter is pretty interesting to say the least, it's a game that has the elements of a shmup, rhythm game, and a puzzle game and it's pretty good. GT5: Prolouge is a must for racing fans, Warhawk isn't my cup of tea, but it is pretty good, and it's not a FPS it's a few different types of games mixed with eachother like Everyday Shooter. Tekken 5 is always a bit of fun, especially the multiplayer, TES IV: GOTY Edition is pretty epic in scale, probably a 200+ hour experience if you do everything. Super Stardust HD is also a pretty good game and I'd definately give it a try. Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed 2 when it comes out, 1st one was awesome and you might have beat it, but I'd still pick it up anyway. Not sure if you'd really like Resistance 1 and 2 because they are FPS's but they've got a good story and good online. I'd pick up at least Motorstorm 1, it's a pretty good racing game but I don't think there's multiplayer, although the sequels might have added that in. The Orange Box is always good fun. I'd give the new Ratchet & Clank games a try although I've never played them, I heard they were good compared to the older games. Uncharted is like the fucking must buy game for PS3 other than MGS4, it's just epicly awesome. Freakin pick it up. GTA IV if that's your cup of tea. Army of Two is pretty good, once again, not my cup of tea, but it's pretty good. Devil May Cry 4 I thought was pretty interesting with fun gameplay and everything. Lair I'd check out as a rental because it could be beaten in a weekend at least, I'd check out Mercenaries 2 as well with it being a pretty good game in my opinion. You might not like the game but not knowing I reccommend Mirror's Edge, liking it a lot more than most people did, it had interesting mechanics, fun gameplay, and a sub-par story at least. Call of Jaurez and it's sequel Bound In Blood if you wanna rent those or something, I never really liked them. Once again, another freakin awesome game is Valkyria Chronicles, a strategy RPG that I absolutely love. Civilization Revolution is pretty good. Condemned 2: Bloodshot is good although I never beat it because I never complete horror games. InFamous and Prototype are pretty awesome and I'd definately at least pick them up as rentals because they're just pretty awesome. Red Faction Guerilla is pretty good, and that's about all I've got to reccommend.
Major games to play
-------
MGS4
Heavenly Sword
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Valkyria Chronicles
Burnout Paradise
GT5: Prolouge
TES IV: GOTY Edition
Everyday Shooter
Folklore
FF13 or whatever if you like new FF games.

Regardless of what I have said about Batman, it's still an awesome game. Depending on what you play RE5, DMC4 (like M3GA said), and GoWIII when it comes out.

MGS4 Is a staple for the PS3
Burnout Paradise
Stranglehold isn't that bad for it's current price
Also buy a 20-50 dollar PSN card and buy a couple of the PSN only games like Cell Factor, PAIN and Piyatoma.
After awhile your need for trophies will kick in... also add me to your friends... I'll kick your ass at a couple games. Including Soul Calibur IV

the god of war collection (god of war 1 + 2) will be releasing soon. you might want to pick that up if you havent played it before. then next year will be god of war 3.
at any rate, if you want to be cheap, you can buy downloadable games from the PSN. they have a good selection

I don't think so. Correct me if I'm wrong but it accepts credit cards (not debit-credit) and the PSN cards... Paypal I would say no.

I can use Credit-Debit cards. We should start a Sydlexia game pool. All of us buy a certain game and then 4-5 other people can get the game for free. Just need the user name and password. My friend got me an asston of games he downloaded for free from his account.
If anyone is interested let me know.

I'm interested Douche, explain a little bit more about how it would work. I don't think anyone is going to trust anyone with their billing information though.. I got most of my games I have from a friend too, the only games I have purchased myself on my account is Street Fighter 2 HD Remix (you can play multiplayer online), and Medal of Honor from the PS1 classics section.

Someone creates a Sydlexia account on the PSN. Doesn't matter who. We all need the User name and password. We can do this a multiple of ways, if you buy a game you can delete your credit card information or we get PSN cards like Slayer does. Buy the game and then we got I think 4-5 downloads of the game we can put on our own systems. We ca either pitch the person that bought the game a couple bucks via paypal or something or we can return the favor and buy a game. That's up to the group to decide. So if we have 5 people and someone gets a $10 game you can either thrown them $2 or buy a game. I'm sure we will run into the "I don't like/want that game" stuff but considering you're getting 80% off it would equal out. We don't HAVE to do it that way it's just a thought.

So everyone would log onto that account and download the game to their console?
Why the fuck is Sony giving people 5 DLs of a game for one purchase? That seems kinda dumb.

Whatever, if I didn't have a console for a few months would my DLs be there waiting for me when I got one? or do they expire?

I think PSN cards are the best way to go for this account. Count me in, I got $ right now I'll throw down on it. So now we need to have 4 or 5 people. Who is in? Anyone have suggestions of what games to get?
