Saw the new Mike Judge movie Friday, it was ok. I would say that it falls somewhere in between his cult classic Office Space and that steaming pile of crap which was Idiocracy. I give it 3 1/2 mmmks. Wait for the rental.

I was pretty much figuring on a rental anyway, but its good to hear my instinct was right.

As for Office Space, I don't think they'll ever be another movie that does what it does so well. That one pretty much hit every mark it needed to perfectly, and anything else would end up being an outright ripoff or pale imitation.

Idiocracy was fucking amazing.

What is Extract even about? I saw a brief trailer and it didn't really explain anything. They work in a warehouse? Is that it?

The trailer I saw for Extract looked like it was about people working in a factory. It looked to be another work comedy. I'll rent it when it comes to DVD.

I don't really like Jason Bateman, but whatever. I don't expect this movie to be all that great but I'll probably rent it.

As SoldierHawk said you can't top Office Space. It was done so perfectly that even trying to capture the magic of that movie again is pointless. By the way I was Bill Lumbergh last Halloween, and yes it was awesome.

Look, I kind of secretly liked Idiocracy as well. However, once it bombed the movie studios ran from it as fast as they could. Extract is not one half as creative as that movie and not half as funny as Office Space. This leaves it somewhere in the middle of those two for me. I love Mike Judge, and this one has some hilarious parts, but could have been better. Wow, I never met anyone else who didn't hate Idiocracy, thanks Sydlexia, for making me feel better about me!

They work in a factory that makes vanilla extract, hence the name.

I think just one of the characters does from what I heard.

One of the critics on the radio was complaining that the plot is just too "zaney" to work. I'll have to judge it myself.

I feel like to hate Idiocracy you would need to feel offended by it.

Um, the movie studios refused to give it a proper release. It was released in like 4 major cities for about a week. Rumor is that some of the companies that gave consent to have their corporate logos used in the movie (Wal*Mart, Starbucks) were less than pleased with the way they were treated and put pressure on the studio to bury the movie.

Dude, don't do it. For the love of god, don't do it. That may be the worst movie I've seen in a year... and I was forced to watch Enchanted with my (ex) gf and mom ten months ago.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.
