I'm just curious as to what you all think of him. Personally, My mom's been watching his show so I kind of pick up things in the background to look up. He seems like he's got a good heart but he tends to blow things ridiculously out of proportion and raaaage

I'll say it now: He's a creepy, unintelligent, opportunistic little cretin who brings to light every thing that's wrong with the right-wing base these days. He constantly tosses misinformation and defames Obama as a nazi-type eugenist in an effort to make himself look like some kind of no-chinned glorious revolutionist, but just reeks of him trying to sell all kinds of stupid shit off of his website. Though I can't stand Olbermann too much, I think Keith really nailed it when he basically said that one day "Beck will say something stupid and bigoted and we'll soon forget about him."
Whatever happened to the William F. Buckleys of the right side of the political spectrum? Men and women who read extensively, refused to come to a decision based on fabrication of facts, and believed that reasoned debate was the best marketplace of political ideas. Now, we have these loudmouthed, money/attention-grubbing creeps with a fistful of lies and stalker camera crews. I miss talking to conservatives about "public good" versus "personal liberty" without hearing "BIRTH CERTIFICATE DEATH PANELS NURRRRRR." I realize that the left isn't better these days with the whole "obama.is.change.i.love.him," crap, but at least they don't stuff themselves on misinformation and start bringing guns to political town halls then get hailed as a hero by Fox News.

They still stuff themselves on misinformation (And use virtually every mainstream media outlet to stuff the general public with misinformation), they just have yet to bring guns to a town hall meeting.

Glen Beck = Nutso. In comparison though, you could watch Ed Schultz and get the same crazy one sided misinformation just from the other party (Dems). I would just say do not watch biased news because its not news, its news created for ratings. That is why when you ask many Republicans or Democrats why they believe in the things they do, most of them do not know. They just like to repeat the opinions they see from FOX or MSNBC. Try watching BBC America or reading a paper.

Glenn Beck kicks ass and is one of the few people on TV to tell things as they are.

All news is biased, at least in some way.

Posts like Jeebus' and Ash's are what I was looking for. I'm surprised SoldierHawk posted what s/he did, usually being the most outspoken about frantic, biased, paranoid people. (republicans, I guess. though glenn beck is kind of like a crazy hobo)

Haven't really seen any of Glenn Beck's stuff. I'm more of an O'Reilly guy, but I haven't watched him in a few months.

Glenn Beck is a fucking moron. Him and people like him are the reason that the right is being seen as a party of loonies. He needs to go away. Quickly.
That said, Olbermann is the same brand of dumbass; he's just a different flavor. I would add Bill Maher to that list, but Maher doesn't really make bold claims about politics, he just sits there with a smirk on his face taking easy potshots at the right for cheap laughs. Whatever.
Anyway, the quicker all these dumbfuck quasi-talkshow hosts get off TV, the better. There's far too many people that take far too much of what they say far too seriously. The left is just as guilty as the right, they just have the political capital to seem to be "correct" right now.
For the relative noobies, so you know the political position from which I am speaking, you should know that I'm one of the few token Republicans here... ::high fives Syd and Cattivo::.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us. |

All news is biased to a degree. What matters is are you agreeing with the people you see because you understand the true nature of an issue, or do you just agree with what you feel you're expected to?

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas. |

I don't like his show, I'm more of a O'Reilly guy. That is great TV. I have caught bits of Glenn Beck here and there and he just acts too ridiculous for me to take him seriously. He is a clown. I swear, I saw a clip of one of his episodes where he wore lederhosen and was dancing on his desk.
I kind of doubt the guy has said anything that was bigoted like someone said on here, and would love for someone to tell me one thing he said that was. Keith Olderman is a joke, and I think its funny that he would say something like "He will say this and then we will forget about him" when the Nielson cable news ratings say that Glenn Beck has twice as many veiwers as Olberman. MSNBC is a joke and the only reason why its still on TV is because GE got millions of tax payer dollars.

I don't think he would go off and blab something bigoted. He is a creepy loony toon but he isn't an idiot. I actually enjoyed half of his book, although some of his views are pretty extreme. However, he has said a few interesting things on his show on CNN and his more recent FOX show:
"Al Gore's not going to be rounding up Jews and exterminating them. It is the same tactic, however. The goal is different. The goal is globalization. The goal is global carbon tax.…You need to have fear. You needed to have the fear of starvation. You needed to have the fear of the whole place going to hell in a handbasket. Which — do we have that fear now with global warming?…Then you have to discredit the scientists that say 'That's not right.' And you must silence all dissenting voices. That's what Hitler did. That's what Al Gore, the U.N., and everybody on the global warming bandwagon are doing."
Glenn Beck Program, April 30, 2007
"The most used phrase in my administration if I were to be President would be "What the hell you mean we're out of missiles?"
The Glenn Beck Program, January 12 2009
"Cindy Sheehan is a tragedy slut."

I'm pretty sure that Glenn Beck is a failed prototype in the process to create the perfect slimy douchebag pundit, AKA Keith Olbermann.

Personally the only times I enjoy him is when he says something that just begs to be taken out of context by shows like the Daily Show or Colbert
