i dont know if anyone plays dota or cares for it. i have only played it several times on WCIII, but from what i played, it was rather fun. apparently, there are two games coming out that are dota inspired: http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3175835

i might be inclined to play the free one, because... well, its free. i can already play dota free on WCIII, why pay for the same game?

anyone else ever indulge in this?

I have played Dota and i fucking hate it.

If your idea of a good game is a game:

which is a custom game built within a game
were when you try and download the map you are kicked before you reach 1%
were the players generally consist of 13 year olds spamming LOL NOOB at you
were the gameplay isn't original or even interesting

then dota is the game for you.

It is actually so ridiculous that me and my mates join the games to see how long it takes them to kick us. The record is 10%.

i have only played it online against other people like twice i think. i normally just play LAN style w/other friends, and its not that bad.

DOTA (defense of the ancients) is a boring stupid map mod. Here's why.

1. Its tedious. Its a hack-n-slash like WoW, save you only get four powers. Click on enemy, don't die.
2. Its poorly balanced by people who don't know what they are doing.
3. Even if items and classes were balanced, the stats are flawed because agility improves attack and defense, making it the king stat. Intelligence just boosts the mana of non-scaling spells, making it the dump.

I don't care for a new version, the foundation of the premise means its going to be stratagy and skill void, so another boring waste of time in the PC game collection.
