I had a wee search back a few pages and didn't see a topic on this which is surprising.

So what are the worst films you guys have ever seen and why? I can think of one which comes to mind automatically when i think of this. Rant begins:

Cloverfield.

I remember the big hype about Cloverfield. The whole "what is this film about?", "What is the monster?" from the way it was being marketed, horded away and kept a secret building up excitement. I remember a mate of mine linking me to trailer video on youtube and i must admit it looked like it was going to be pretty good and had some potential.

The film then was released i made plans to go see it and for whatever reason i didn't actually go to see it. Heard some mixed reviews about it and finally months later i saw them shifting their stock of it for about £5. So i thought hey this is meant to be good i'l buy it.

So me and my mate usually have a movie night to quell our boredom so i bring it over to his house for us to watch.

*Spoilers from here*

What a total abomination it is. We watched it and thought wtf was this? This film has a number of problems/flaws which made me rate it absolute shit.

What my whole problem with the film revolves around the length of the film. The whole thing was 81 minutes long, including credits. That is ridiculously short and is why the film is so shit. Now you may be saying there are lots of films that short and are good, why is this a problem for me. Well it will all become clear in a second.

A brief run through of the film will explain my hatred of it.
The film opens with a message from the US government saying how the camcorder was found. So you automatically know that everyone dies at the end.. not a typical opening but okay.

This is then goes into the actual footage of this guy Rob who is leaving for Japan and the camera is following him around his party. Okay so some character development.. this is what i thought. This part was the most mundane part of the film, there's some relationship problem going on but quite frankly it doesn't make it interesting. At this point i couldn't care less about these people. So the party goes on and on and on and on.

Now this is where i go back to the timing. The film is 81 minutes long take 6 minutes off for credits leaves us with 75minutes. Now this party goes on FOR MOTHERFUCKING 20-30MINUTES. 20/30 minutes of people going "BYE ROB HAVE A NICE TRIP HUHUHUHU". I understand this is the only part to develop the characters since 1. its the start. 2. they are going to be running away from a monster soon enough but they don't even fucking do it. It's just talking shit. This leaves 45/55 minutes of actual film left. ACTUAL STUFF HAPPENING. So now we skip past the mundane chat about nothing and onto the actual film with people i don't give a fuck about. So it actually perks up here. I wake up my mate beside me and we continue watching. Monster is thrashing around throwing statue of liberty good. So its getting good.

Then here come my big problem with the rest of the film. The camerawork.

It was heralded as being revolutionary, amazing. I thought it was shit. If a critics idea of a good film is one where you spend half of the 45/55minutes of actual action staring at concrete on the ground or being in pitch black whilst hearing people running around screaming then they are a fucking moron.

Remember i don't give a fuck about these people why should i care if they are getting mauled to death. These parts are meant to create tension but there is none created.

So from here on its just them running around trying to find this girl who Rob fucked one night. Don't care that much. I am looking for the action.

Action yeah there's a lot of that missing. There's a few brief monster shots and few alien critters running about that's about it. No proper monster action shooting killing. Even Godzilla with Matthew Broderick had more action than this film.

So then they are trying to escape and they are in the helicopter and it crashes to the ground - oh no. So they crash in central park and the monster is roaming around above crushing all until there's two left. Rob and the girl he loves. So they profess their love the bombs come down.

The end.

That's it. The fucking end. Now people have disagreed with me on this but i like to have a bit of clarification at the end of a film. Most films give you sort of a clue at the end of the film about what happens but not this fucker. What people said to me is use your imagination. I don't want to, i want to know what happens. There is no explanation is the monster alive, are they alive? - looking back to the footage found at the start. IT ISN'T CLEAR.

I may as well say the monster burst into magic pixie dust then then all lived happily ever after if i am going to make up my own ending.

Cloverfield total bullshit. Of course to be expected from Abrams (Star Trek, MI3: good/okay respectively) who fucking made Lost a monstrosity of a TV show where i think he just writes an episode broadcasts it and makes it up as he goes along.

Give me strength. AND A SEQUEL TO CLOVERFIELD TO BE MADE?!. Give me strength.

Watch Hangmen 'starring' Sandra Bullock if you want a real shit sucker. I've ranted about it enough over the years but here are some high lights of how bad the movie is:

The movie makes shootouts boring has hell
The plot is random and filled with 80s cliche
The acting so bad that somehow everyone else makes Sandra Bullock a million times better and it was her first time doing a feature film.

That movie has an exuse though, it was low budget.

Cloverfields, i have yet to see so i really can't pass judgment.

Cloverfield: Vomitcam slapped on a run-of-the-mill monster movie.
Transformers: Still haven't seen the second one, but that's because the first was enough of a disappointment.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: More like George Lucas and the Skullfucking of Another Great Movie Series.

Running Scared is up there among the worst I've ever seen.

This movie should be re-titled "Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbook: The Movie". At one point, a kid uses a gun to shoot his stepfather. At another point, he gets in a fight with a pimp who's beating his prostitute employee. At another point, he gets kidnapped by a man and woman who make kiddie porn. At another point, he's in the middle a shoot-out between an FBI agent and some Russian gangsters.

And by the end of it, you'll be thinking to yourself: "If only that dumb kid didn't call John Wayne a faggot." I'm not making a joke, people. That's how the kid gets in trouble in the first place. I am NOT FUCKING KIDDING. He insults John Wayne, his stepfather's childhood hero, and then he shoots the guy. Sounds pretty stupid, huh? Just don't watch it. This is fair warning.

The movie recieved a rather good deal (albeit short-lived amount) of critical acclaim and that's why I was willing to watch the movie, but I was shocked that any reputable critic would say good things about it. And trust me people, I've seen BAD movies before. I've seen Meet The Spartans and Monsturd before, but I think those movies were trying to be bad so it's not like I was expecting much from them. Running Scared was trying to be realistic and dramatic, but it failed hilariously. I haven't seen the movie in over three years, yet it's had such an impact upon my life (I'll admit I don't remember the names of any of the characters, but I remember what happened in the movie).

Hell, the makers of this movie even managed to get the guy who played the detective in Usual Suspects. USUAL SUSPECTS, DAMMIT!!! That was a good movie with good actors! HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?

"Running Scared" describes what I wanted to do after seeing that piece of trash. LOLLLLLOOLLOLL CUZ I WANNA RUN AWAY FROM THE BAD MOVIE GET IT??? LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Oh yes another one to rant on about.

A Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell
Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyPrJb1_IdI

Now if you don't know anything about Troma who made it. They are notorious for making pieces of shit. Another film i have by them is "Surf Nazis Must Die".

Now i bought this having in mind knowing it was going to be awful. I bought it so like with Surf Nazis me and my mates could laugh at how bad it was. Surf Nazis however could be laughed at.

Nymphoid Barbarian is just painful.

The plot of the story is that after many wars through history, society had crumbled and the world has became desolate. The population of the world have became nomads no one can read or write or anything and its like prehistoric times.

The Barbarian just runs around the "nuclear wasteland" fighting stuff with this guy who gets captured. The acting is atrocious. It's so bad it's not even funny its just mindnumbingly boring. The claymation is terrible. After the guy gets captured it involves her trying to rescue him from the villain. Words can't describe how awful it is. You must see it to believe it.

The only semi-funny bit was when this guy called "The Bard" who looks like fucking Plato randomly appears and talks to the guy before hes captured. He's the only guy who can read and write in this society and has a revolver which he gives him.

Unwatchable. Never again.

I didn't think it was that bad. Not as bad as people made out it to be.

Sure it has its bits of total cheese and the plot is a bit weird but that's a part of Indiana Jones charm.

People told me the UFO bit was ridiculous at the end. It's no more ridiculous than the ark of the covenant or Kalimah.

The fridge nuclear test bit wasn't as bad as it was made as well.

LOL! I've been watching this on MST3K all week. The movie sucks, but Torgo rules!

Worst movie: Cold Mountain. "Come see a Movie", they said. "It's about the Civil War", they said. Like a retard, I believe them only realize the mistake I've made after noticing I'm the only guy in the theatre. Jude Law sucks and Nicole Kidman is worthless.

No, I don't think I will fuck Stummies.

- Transformers AND Transformers 2:

To be honest, I didn't watch the second one, but got to read a comic adaptation of the film, which wouldn't surprise of being accurate to the stupidity of it, as it still gave me the same type of headache the first one gave me. The apparent "human" Decepticon during the campus bit for example? Turns out that said Decepticon copied an animatronic from a carnival ride according to some sort of closure.

That being said, WHY THE FUCK COULDN'T ANYONE TELL THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THAT GIRL!? Robotics aren't that advance to create realistic human skin, let alone an animatronic from a Disney ride. Or the whole joke is that frat boys are so fucking stupid they couldn't tell a real girl from a blow up doll?

...And I'm gonna end up writing a whole essay if I keep talking about this movie, so moving on...

- The Spirit.

Went to see it with Lordsathien, and it's the first movie in my 30 years of existence that I walked out of a movie and demanded my money back. Some sources say that Frank Miller wrote the film as a satire of the superhero genre, but honestly, I think he made up that excuse just to cover his ass.

- The first Dungeons and Dragons movie:

I actually convinced my family to come watch it, thinking it would be awesome; I still regret it to this date.

- Any movie done by The Asylum.

...Do I really need to explain it?

- The (insert adjetice) Movie series and its variants.

Clearly what happens when you take the concept of Airplane, surgically remove the clever wits and replace it with shallow pop culture refence and vague references to other movies.

More when I actually dig them out from my memory vault...

Teeth.

Quite possibly the worst film that I have ever had the displeasure of watching. More penis then a Vivid dvd. It made me think twice about stickin' my junk into a virgin.

and,

Andre The Butcher.

The cover made this film look like a pseudo-Texas Chainsaw, but didn't know that I was actually getting a B-grade, softcore porn, with more jump-cuts then my high school TV production skit, starring Ron Jeremy as the protagonist. Rubbish!

Oh, and My Bloody Valentine 3D.

First off, it wasn't even in 3D and the plot was so predictable. It was a horrible movie that I would spare the pain of anyone to sit and waste their life watching. If your thinking about checking this movie out........PASS! A huge pass!!

I'm gonna catch hell for these but I don't care, because it doesn't change the fact that they were awful, overrated movies:

The Wall - Boring. I don't inject pure LSD into my veins so I didn't get it.

Sunshine - I will admit that this movie had purty colors, but it had the least likable cast of characters I have ever seen.

Halloween 3 - The first time I saw this as a child, it scared me. The first time I saw it as an adult, it infuriated me. Halloween - Michael Myers + Androids + Evil Corporate Warlock = awful, just awful.

The Doors - Oliver Stone is dumb. The Doors were dumb. The movie was dumb. It's shit like this that causes anti-social high school kids to worship dead junkies. I'm sure his next one will be "Throwing up Laying down : The Jimi Hendrix Story.

Terminator 3 - It just wasn't a Terminator movie.

There are tons more I'm sure but those are the only ones that actually anger me.

Batman & Robin and Transformers 2.

"Anybody who ever built an empire, or changed the world, sat where you are now. And it’s because they sat there that they were able to do it."

"Fighting in a basement offers a lot of difficulties, number one being, you're fighting in a basement."

Blue Brothers 2000. I actually like almost every movie I watch at least a little bit, but I didn't even finish this one...once that green girl made put a spell on them I had to turn it off.

The Knowing. Just...the Knowing. I already have a thread ranting about it somewhere.

I WOULD say the Nick Cage version of "The Wicker Man," but honestly its so over the top bad that it falls into "so bad its good" territory. Its one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. If only it hadn't had to anally rape a classic to get all that comedy. Confused

LMAO! Your last remark made me laugh.

But anyway, the one I'm talking about is the 2006 film starring Paul Walker. I just glanced at it and noticed they never mentioned the "John Wayne was a faggot" line, so yeah I guess they left out the dumb parts (although not all of them have been left out, which you'll understand if you're brave/masochistic enough to see the movie).

Admittedly, I didn't read the entire Wiki article but I wouldn't be surprised if they left out the fact that the protagonist of the film has a strong hatred against both Russian gangsters and proper English grammar.
