I don't know. I've read up on this game on TFG and it looks like a solid fighter however it's characters seem to take the route of the cliche' "intense" anime look. As a fighting game it looks really solid and I'm sure it's fun but I really hope that they don't retire Guilty Gear. I find the overall look and feel of the GG games entertaining and really fleshed-out. It just doesn't seem right to end the series with an installment that that plays nothing like the past games. The artwork of Guilty Gear looks a lot more detailed as well. While I wish nothing bad to happen to this new series, but I sincerely hope they don't decide to can GG for a series that looks like character designs I've seen a million times. That's just me though.

I just picked this up today, and let me say, its worth every penny. The soundtracks is amazing, and the art is beyond fantastic. As far as control goes, its up to snuff and I had little trouble linking attacks into combos after a bit of practice. I have yet to try online play but the arcade mode is quite entertaining. Keeping with 2-D fighter tradition, the last 2 stages become ridiculously difficult, and I think it took me about 12 tries to beat the 9th out of 10 stages, then 1 to beat the last boss. Overall, I'd give it a 9/10, definitely one of the best fighters on the 360 and PS3. Buy the first run so you get the Limited Edition extras like the 2 disc soundtrack and a tutorial dvd with various web experts analyzing all the characters, for the exact same cost as the base game.

If it needs one, so does Guilty Gear XX. Then again, I guess GGXX kinda did.

you can get GGXX#R on the regular x box for like ten bucks at gamestop. it's also on XBLA as an x box original, but I'm sure that's more expensive.

on the PS2 you can find isuka or accent core for just under thirty used (I have both because I am awesome).

Get Accent Core Plus for the Wii. It goes for 30-40. Make sure you have Wavebirds.

maybe it will work with GG's weird button setup (punch, kick, slash, HARD slash?) but I have never found a gamecube controller to be comfortable in a fighting game taht wasn't soul calibur.

yeah, it works because it's (mostly) a four button game.

I don't consider that a real fighting game.

that's like saying mario cart is on the same level with gran turismo.

Smash Bros. falls into a category that I like to call "arena fighter". Most of the other ones in said category are Powerstone-esque, though.

I still need to get BlazBlue and KOF XII, but right now I'm hurting for cash majorly.

I'd get GG Judgment for PSP, you can find it cheap and it comes with GGXX as well as an above average beat em up

FNJ: I'm still surprised that you don't have this game. Its good, there's a complex fighting system for the dedicated fighters, a good set of easy to pull off moves and analog shortcuts for newer players and for easing in, twelve distinct characters so no glut or poor balancing issues, and its oozes humor and style for aesthetic appeal (Louie XIV the electric frog, Taokaka/Mei Ling fights cause the catgirl to exclaim "Its the boobie lady!", the ninja's ultimate makes him super fast and changes the music to some super sentai stuff where it exclaims how awesome he is).

Username: I would say GG accent core ++ for the PS2, but I don't know if that's the right title. Its the newest edition out. Get it new, so you can get the soundtrack, I think its badass but I'm the kind of person that listens to videogame music so there is that. I think GG is overrated, its on the one hand virtually impenetrable and on the other I usually can win matches by spamming Potempkin's forward HS. Unlike Blazblue, it doesn't really have the number of ways to get across the battlefield, manipulate the environment, or otherwise initiate combat save by rushing in or by jumping and then rushing in so a high priority, high range, high damage move is all you really need. Maybe I just fight stupid people.

So...the sequel to BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, titled BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, hits US stores on the 27th of July. The game is pretty much a "Super" BlazBlue. Four new characters come on the disc with three additional characters being added with DLC. Every character from BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger receives at least one new move, and new modes have been added. If I'm not mistaken, they added a mode similar to Street Fighter 4's Trials.

New Characters:
Hazama (Green haired guy from Noel's story and the final scene of story mode. One of the Six Heroes. Uses snake to fly around the stage as his drive move. Kinda looks like he'll play like Bridget from Guilty Gear.)

Tsubaki Yayoi (One of Noel's friends from her story mode. Seen in the final scene of story mode. Her drive involves gathering light energy.)

Mu-12 (A Nu model controlled by Kokonoe)

Lambda-11 (Final boss style Nu with a spoiler of a twist)

DLC Characters:
Makoto Nanaya (One of Noel's friends from her story. She fights with Tonfa and has a bushy tail)

*Valkenhayn Hellsing (Rachel's butler from her story mode. A werewolf and one of the Six Heroes)

*Platinum the Trinity (One of the Six Heroes)

New Character Themes:
Gluttony Fang - Theme of Hazama

Condemnation Wings - Theme of Tsubaki Yayoi

Alexandrite - Theme of Makoto Nanaya

Howling Moon - Theme of Valkenhayn Hellsing

Active Angel - Theme of Platinum the Trinity

There are also several new Vs. tracks.

*These characters have yet to be announced, but people who hacked into the XBox 360 game disc found character data files, along with the character's artwork and theme.

i didn't know that there will be 6 new chars (don't count lambda). its funny that they only made 4 of the 6 Heroes, maybe they are saving up for the next game.

I think Nine is supposed to be dead, so I don't think she's likely to be a playable character, and Juubei...Well I can't think of a good reason why he couldn't make it in.

yeah nine is supposed to be dead but i could imagine that she still shows up somehow by time traveling or something. i just like the idea of all 6 heroes playable but maybe they will never make it.
