I would like to apologize to everyone for the way the forums have gotten lately. There has been a lot of fighting over stupid stuff and it has to end. When I launched these forums in August 2005, my goal was to create a community where people who enjoyed my site could come and discuss pop culture, current events, and whatever else might strike their fancy. I wanted to create a community that was open to everyone, but that is not the reality that currently exists. Instead, the forums have become somewhat elitist. People who type sloppily or who don't like the Nintendo Wii are treated with undue condescension and disrespect. The forum rules are enforced very selectively, and the enforcement is usually carried out to satisfy petty vendettas. As site administrator, I have let these things happen. They have not happened because I agree with them, but because I simply don't have time to watch the forums 24/7. But I'm done letting things go to shit. The bullshit stops now.

The goal of a moderator should be to watch the forums and intervene only when absolutely necessary. Instead, there is a growing air of authoritarianism as someone tries to shape the forums to fit their own vision of what they should be. The moderators were first introduced in March 2006. Between March 2006 and the end of November 2006, there were 26 moderated threads. Most of these were either spambots or threads that pertained to the April Fool's Day joke. Since December, there have been an indeterminate number of moderated posts. You see, moderated posts are supposed to be moved to a special forum for my review. Instead, many of them have been outright deleted. I have noticed an interesting trend on these forums, the less often moderating power is wielded, the happier everyone is. And so, here is the short list of things that will not be tolerated at all on the forums:

1. Any NSFW material. This includes porn, surgery photos, butt cracks, autopsy photos, Faces of Death, and any image depicting graphic violence that is real. If you post a graphic picture that shows blood and/or dead bodies, it will be modded if the moderator who views it does not immediately recognize it as fantasy violence. If you cite the source, you can avoid the moderation.

2. Exceptionally vicious attacks on another forum member. All disputed comments will be subject to a final review by me. If a post of yours is ever removed that you feel shouldn't have been, contact me and I'll look it over. In all honesty, I didn't think either version of JEW's anti-Jeebus video was that bad. So he compared him to Hitler, so what? When my match comes around, I invite you all to compare me to Hitler if you so desire. You know why? Because I'm fairly confident that I'm nothing like Hitler, so the comparison is just plain silly. I also know that you people aren't fucking morons. No one is going to be like "OMG! Teh video said that Syd is like Hitler! I'm not gonna vote for him now!"

You all keep coming back here, so I presume you must enjoy the site and I appreciate your repeated traffic. Now I am asking for a favor. I am calling for a ceasefire. I am asking everyone to forgo their personal grudges and make the forums fun again. No more vulgar displays of power and no more vulgar attacks on each other.

NFSW links depend on the content and do indeed require some sort of warning as to what they are. The Saddam thing is fine, if that's what you're asking.

I really don't want links to Lemon Party or Naughty America sites. Then again, My Sister's Hot Friend's Really Hot Mom Who Is Also A Super Hot Teacher is a great site.
