Back to Taz:
I remember Taz's announcing best with Michael Cole. All my wrestling friends I have know Cole couldn't call a move on the telephone, much less when it's performed in the ring. So Taz was there to make Cole look... smarter? *
thinks* ...competent? Yeah, that's it. Anyway, I watched TNA on his first night and didn't get a real gel with Tenay.
Tenay is more of a monologue announcer. He's improved over the years, but for a team to work, there needs to be some conflict and Taz, as face, just doesn't work out the right way. This why JR and King worked out so well and why Heenan and... everybody else (

) worked out so well. The announcers are as much a part of the show as the wrestlings on a televised broadcast. West going heel broke that wall and successfully did that which TNA had never tried until that point. Obviously, West got removed and killed what would have been an awesome angle.
I'm not a fan of Don West at all, but after that heel turn, keep him in the announce team. I don't mind being proved wrong.
