Ah, the Chocobo race for the Sun Sigil. I honestly have no idea how the DualShock 2 I was using managed to survive that minigame. Actually, that particular controller is somehow still in working order, it seems to be sturdier than most because I have attempted to murder it numerous times over the years and it's still in pretty good condition.

It's amazing how many of life's problems are solved by indiscriminate cannon fire. |

Yeah I know it's kind of shitty to do, and I have not been angry enough to do so in many years, but when I was between the ages of 10 and 16 I probably broke an NES controller, an SNES controller and the stupid magnifying glass that you could attach to your Gameboy that also had a really dim light so you could play at dark.
I also may have been the only person to actually have that stupid Gameboy accessory in this part of the world. |
Nope...I still have mine:

Hey, me too! Mine is blue, though.
I've never actually broken a controller. I did break a game, though (Bio F.R.E.A.K.S. on the PSone), and there are teeth marks in my DS from when I got seriously angry at Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones.

I have broken probably two Gamecube controllers while playing (should I say losing) Smash Brothers Melee.
And maybe another two while playing the same game but just due to straight wear (that game kills controllers).

I have never wanted to murder any game character ever as badly as I wanted to murder that ^%@#^% Chocobo Trainer.

I bite my hand. It costs less, and helps me calm down. Sometimes I'm not even angry and will do it for the hell of it cause I'm weird.

I haven't technically broken a controller via anger, but I have broken several piece of shit Mad Catz controllers just by looking at them. Damn, I hate that company.

Sometimes just thinking about them will cause them to go up in smoke.

I'm the only one who's never even thrown a controller here, let alone break one. Probably 'cause I care for 'em too much.

I had one... God those things sucked. Unless you took it outside to use the magnifying glass to burn leaves and crap, that was pretty fun.
I've never broken a controller, but I've taken a chunk out of my wall with a Guitar Hero guitar playing GH3. Too much scotch + not being able to beat Slash on expert = sudden violent outburst.

Third, i've never broke one of my controllers by extreme anger or throwing them against a wall. I get angry with my games some times but i know the retro shit i play is hard to find now (or at least requires buying the crap off the internet which i don't have the money to do).

MadCatz Microcon controller I got at a thrift store - Left analog stick got fucked up just because I looked at it
2 Master System controllers - One broke trying to hack it and the other busted its D-pad from extended use.
Genesis 3 button controller and a Genesis arcade stick were subject to a sacrifice to create a link cable for Zero Tolerance.
When I was little I used to chew on controller cords a lot and expose the shielding, but never broke any that way.

Clearly physical abuse out of anger is not your forte. You will make a great husband, unlike the rest of us.

My PS2 controller. After my brother impossibly 1 shot killed me in Medal of Honor I threw it at the wall.

I've been working on re-editing that (unless, by some miracle, you downloaded it when I originally put it up and still have it). But yeah. That totally works in this situation.
